Rotary motors apex seals just don't last as long as piston rings. Rotary motors have essentially only 3 moving parts 2 rotors and one central shaft. Piston engines have 24 valves four cams 6 pistons 6 rods and crank shaft and 12 feet of timing chain. It is up to you Go rotary buy extended power-train coverage. And piston engine 285 hp VQ-35DE motors and VG-35HR 307 hp motors last a long time and even longer when you use Mobil one extended life motor oil. Now for the outside of the car. RX-8 drivers passengers rear side door how safe can that be? I like each door to close on a multi layered strong body post. Renesis rotary motor 240/265 hp? I think and lengthened Miata chassis And how about those triangles what's up with those? Third Gen RX-7 with turbos is a better looking car but the motor does not last long. 350z body style is a bit fussy buy mostly practical. Remember Sports Cars need good quality repair work and a little more money to keep them nice.

Found this on yahoo, please search before you post...
"The Mazdaspeed RX-8 has no engine modifications from the regular RX-8, so in a straight line, the RX-8 would be significantly slower than a 350Z. Times in the 1/4 mile for the 350Z should be high 13/low 14 seconds whereas the Mazdaspeed RX-8 should be more mid/high 14 seconds range. As for handling, the Mazdaspeed will feel much lighter on it's feet and more agile (less weight and better distribution), but the actual grip levels should be about the same with the Mazdaspeed coming out with a bit more.
I wouldn't say one was better than the other it just depends on what you want out of the car. The 350Z is more of an import muscle car whereas the RX-8 is a lightweight go-kart."

RX-8=Handles better, same top speed, almost as quick 0-60 time, more practical, higher revving engine.
If you do not know how to maintain rotary engines, then get the 350z.

"Best" is a subjective answer. I prefer the Nissan V6 engine but like the looks of the RX8 better.

350z looks better in my opinion. The are easily modded and would win in a race.

I always liked the first 2 years the 350 came out. just because they are a little smaller and a little more rounded out. they look really good with wheels and a suspension. the newer ones look like space cars to me.

Neither. Ones a Nissan product and the other is a Mazda with a rotary engine so neither will get u to 100k miles w/o a major problem.
