Will Penn State go undefeated?

I think they can. Toughest games are Wisconsin and Ohio St. If they go undefeated, do you think they'll make the BCS game? Or will they get screwed as a #3 seed? I guess that all depends on who else goes undefeated.

Yes. This year's squad looks better than any I've seen since the 94/95 Rose Bowl "dream team." Don't listen to anyone else here, they're all still reeling from the fact that their favorite top-10 teams all lost, and most of them to unranked opponents (sucks to be them). I've been predicting how almost all of this was gonna go down down from the beginning of the season, and I won $500 on the Georgia/Bama game (I have one of the top "Yahoo College Pick Em" sets in the nation). So thank you Bulldogs for consitently sucking & getting overrated...whole lotta' good that 'black-out' did for ya!

PSU will go undefeated. They have the talent, which is undeniable, but furthermore...they're playing like a team, they're all looking out for eachother, and they're taking the season one game at a time as opposed to getting caught up in their hype and talking too much about the NC, and that's the only way to consistenly win in college football these days...

Source(s): Trust me. All of these people that have said "no" are the same people who I garaunteed that Georgia, Florida, and USC would all lose at least one game this season. They're bitter, & they really don't know what they're talking about ;) PSU & Mizzou are the only two teams that will remain unbeaten this year (OU will lose the Big-12 conference championship and then cry about not making it to the NC game for like, the second or third year in a row), and will likely end up in the NC together. Put $500 on it! EDIT: and to "You", the Big Ten is currently the 2nd best conference of the Big Six in the power rankings AND many are arguing the second best overall (second behind the Big-12, not the SEC). I garauntee you of this, that by the end of the season, just like everyone was hating on the Big-10 for being overrated last year, they will be back on top and everyone will be bashing the SEC for being overrated. Actually, many prominent sportscasters already are...

If they go undefeated, they could play for the NC game, and there's a good chance of it. But if they have one loss then no, because Ohio State ruined the perception of the Big 10. Penn State will beat Purdue easily, have no problem with Wisconsin or Michigan (remember, we killed a good Wisconsin last year, we should be able to humiliate a bad Michigan at this homecoming, too). Ohio State might be a little challenge, but Penn State will be out for blood after last year and the whole drama with Pryor. Penn State wins that one by a touchdown or a little more. Indiana, no challenge, Iowa, easy win. Michigan State will give us fits, but we'll be out for revenge for last year and win. Penn State goes to the NC game in Miami, plays either Bama or Mizzou, or maybe someone else, and wins JoePa his third national championship.

I don't see Penn State playing conservative on the road, the whole offense and attitude have changed. We have a defense like the 2005 team's with a 1994 team type of offense.

That Illinois we beat on Saturday will go 10-2 and to the Rose Bowl to get revenge on USC and win this time. I believe that this Illini squad will also do a good job representing the Big 10.

Now Ohio State, they got Capital One Bowl written all over them. This team will lose to Illinois and Penn State, then face an SEC team. With the talent they have, they have a good shot at getting the SEC monkey off their backs. And if they don't, well, it'll be their own fault, but PSU and Illinois will hog the spotlight and the "weak slow Big 10" talk will stop once and for all.

Penn State 11-0 vs Alabama 13-0 would this be tough or what?! What year was that? lol I think State has the best chance of going undefeated, but a 1 loss team from the SEC and Big 12 would get them screwed out of it again!! Im sure Joe Pa is use to it though.I think he has had 5 perfect seasons and only 2 championships

I think they MAY go undefeated, barring a setback (injury / team policy violation) at a skilled position. However, I doubt that will automatically earn them a BCS bid for #1. To me (and NO, I'm not a fan) Oklahoma is the best team out there and Alabama is #2. Also, there is a drop off in talent to the next tier which includes the likes of Texas, Penn State, USC, LSU, Mizzou, and Texas Tech. If Oklahoma wins out and plays (say) Mizzou in the big 12 Championship, then they go to the National Championship. AND, if 'Bama can remain healthy and mind their p's and q's, then they may end up in the SEC Championship. If those two teams win out, then Penn State may be on the outside looking in. Sorry, but that is the way it goes.

Maybe one day we'll have a True National Championship as determined in a "March Madness"-like bracket championship, but right now the big TV and bowl money rules. Too bad.

I think you're giving Wisconsin too much credit and not giving Michigan enough.

Here's how I see the Nittany Lions season ending:

-So long as they don't overlook Purdue, Iowa, and Indiana, they should be fine in those games.

-They will stuff the Wisconsin run and force the QB to throw, which will be Wisconsin's down fall in that game. Penn State will run Wisconsin's defense down and win easily.

-Michigan will play solid defense but their offense won't be able to put it in the endzone enough. Penn State will win but it will be close.

-Pryor will keep the game close I bet you that Penn State will come in looking for vengence for being a token choice in his choice of schools. The game will be close but Penn State's D will hold the Buckeyes enough to hang on.

-MSU is a game they need to worry about. Their offense is well balanced and could pose the biggest threat to the Nittany Lions. Penn State will win but expect this to be the closest of all the games they play.

By the end of the season, I don't expect that there will be three undefeated teams. And if there is a controversy, it will be with the Mountain West, if they have an undefeated team by season's end.

I keep up with Penn State a lot . I do not think they will go undefeated because of the road games. It will be really tough. If they did go undefeated, I am not sure how much the voters will allow them to be in the BCS championship game.. It could be good for controversey and therefore good for TV air time. meaning more money

good point. the big 10 is theirs to lose. we've already seen that OSU is human.

they'll be a lot of underdogs gunning for PSU and OSU though. as long as PSU plays at their level, they'll be ok.

however, although this may make me sound like a traitor, even IF PSU goes undefeated, I don't think they should be in the Nat'l Championship game. even if the other teams have 1 loss. sorry, the big 10 isn't as strong as you and i would like it to be. (however, if they DO go undefeated, the stupid pollsters and BCS folks WILL put them in the Championship game, like the bunch of morons that they are ... cuz it'll be a great 2nd story to possibly have Paterno's last game in the Championship).

add - Milkshake, you probly are a lot smarter than me, and have a lot more time to analyze. i hope you prove me wrong. i'd love to see the big 10 flourish. my naive eyes don't see it right now. we'll seen in a few months. i get sick of SEC hype too, but besides just opinions, it's difficult to PROVE a clear cut best, and they just seem to have some nasty teams who can beat each other, and other big six conf opponents (except in bowl games, barring the big ones... you're right). i'm sure you probly have some stats. i don't think the big 10 was over rated last year. but this year ... it's hard to say. i hope you're right. you definitely have had my ear for awhile, cuz you back up your opinions. but at the end of the day (for now), it's opinions. like i said, we'll see in a few months. i hope to see PSU on top. cuz as a wolverine fan, i can't stand OSU.

I think they can especially since their offense is very explosive and the Big 10 is very weak this season, especially this season. The game at Ohio St. this season does not scare me any bit.
