Where the hell can you find a starting gig at 150k? Sadly that poster is grossly misinformed. Helo pilots are like the rest the people starting out in aviation, you start out at the bottom making peanuts flying things that shouldn't be airworthy and if you stick with it long enough, you make a decent living at it.
With a fresh commercial rotor-wing license you can get your instructors rating and teach others for a good 20-30k a year or more if you are really talented in a well-to-do area or find a gig flying for off-shore oil rigs flying junk for 30k at best until you rack up enough hours to be competitive enough to land a medivac or government job. After years of flying then you can start hoping to see 50 to 75k type of jobs. Until then, you are just another added cost of operating a highly expensive piece of machinery; thus expendable.
You kids thinking pilots make 6 figures are all seriously misinformed. That type of salary is often the exception based on the flying you do, not the norm. Sorry to bust your grandiose illusions, but we pilots make a living just like everyone else. Far from being rock-stars - though we don't mind the misconception.

I would say 20 to 30 K depending on prior experience. Helicopter pilots don't make as much money as Fixed wing commercial pilots. Anybody can fly an airplane, it takes skill to fly a helicopter.
