Why did the Dems blame the Rep, when they have a clear majority to pass the bailout?

Because they are natural cowards.

It is an election year. The Democrats control congress. They are already seen as the most do-nothing group in the history of Congress. Since they cannot even get their own party members on board with their plans they resort to trying to pass the buck to the opposition. However, if the bailout bill had passed and the plan failed they would have blamed Republicans for that also by claiming they were only doing what the President wanted. The simple fact is that this group is unwilling to take real stands on any issues. Instead they keep looking for the safe ground. They have repeatedly blamed their lack of leadership and inability to act on the Republicans. They do this by saying they cannot act because their majority is not large enough, or that they cannot overcome veto power. What they are really saying is we are unwilling to act unless we have safe ground to run to if it all goes wrong. This is not leadership and it is not bi-partisan spirit. So it is incumbent on each voter to take a long hard look at their current representatives in Congress this year when deciding who should run the country. Throw out the do-nothings and put people in who will actually work for the people, not their own limited self interests.

Because somebody didn't live up to the deal, of course.
Come on, kiddies - you all must know how the political game is played. The Speaker and the Whip made a deal about how many votes would come from each party to make it look bi-partisan. There's an election coming up, and nobody whose term is ending wanted to take a chance on being seen voting for such an unpopular bill. They decide ahead of time who's going to do the political posturing and who is going to take the fall and do what's right even though it's unpopular. They were totally shocked that it didn't pass. They had fewer on both sides, not just the Republicans. Didn't anyone else notice after the vote how that Congressman went to the podium and sheepishly asked to forgo the rules and do a second vote? Oh, please, the joke that's been going on in Washington for the past week is a Vaudeville show, people, and it's been for your benefit!
Don't you feel like voting them back in now? They're willing to play Russian roulette with YOUR economic future just to get re-elected.

It is a double standard and the liberals control the news media. Lets vote the liberals, socialist and Obama supporters out in 2010. Allow me to give you an illustration. Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said, "Someone may steal from it at night." So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job. Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without instruction?" So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies. Then Congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?" So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One to do the studies and one to write the reports. Then Congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?" So They created the following positions, a time keeper, and a payroll officer, Then hired two people. Then Congress said, "Who will be accountable for all of these people?" So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary. Then Congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one Year and we are $18,000 over budget, we must cutback overall cost." So they laid off the night watchman. NOW slowly, let it sink in. Quietly, we go like sheep to slaughter. Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY .... During the Carter Administration? Anybody? Anything? No? Didn't think so! Bottom line. We've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency ... the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember! Ready?? It was very simple ... and at the time, everybody thought it very appropriate. The Department of Energy was instituted on 8-04-1977. TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL. Hey, pretty efficient, huh??? AND NOW, IT'S 2009 -- 32 YEARS LATER -- AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS "NECESSARY" DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. THEY HAVE 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE! THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, "WHAT WAS I THINKING?" Ah, yes -- good ole bureaucracy. AND, NOW, WE ARE GOING TO TURN THE BANKING SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY OVER TO THE SAME GOVERNMENT?

Nancy peelousey did not want this bail out to pass. She is stupid, but not stupid enough to come out and piss the republicans off just before the vote unless she did it on purpose. She is a criminal and should be shot for treason.

Because they didn't have all the Democrats on board...obviously. In fact some of the democrats in Pelosi's inner circle were voting against it because they're up for reelection this year!!! The Republicans seen this and knew they were being rolled.

Because that is what dems do best play the blame game.My congressman voted for it which cost him my vote in Nov. Why should we vbail out wall street and the dems earmarking ACORN into it killed it!

Because they're wimps who only care about getting votes, not what's good for their country. Just like Obama, they don't want to put themselves out there and take a stance. It's not leadership. The Democrats are going to destroy this country.

I am a fiscal conservative, and after having a look-see at the thing, I DO NOT think that this bill should have passed. It was too risky.

It has been their marching order since they lost the white house.
screw it up, cover it up, and blame it on the Republicans, do anything and hurt anything that stands in their way of regaining power.
I have had enough of democrats and sick of them
