Role of Carbohydrates:
The main role of carbohydrates in our diet is to produce energy. Each gram of carbohydrates provides us with about four calories. Carbohydrates also act as a food store. Our bodies also store carbohydrates in insoluble forms as glycogen or starch. This is because these two carbohydrates are compact. Carbohydrates are also combined with nitrogen to form non-essential amino acids.
Sugars and starches are important carbohydrates that we take in often. Carbohydrates provide a great part of the energy in our diets. Foods rich in carbohydrates, including potatoes, bread, and maize, are usually the most abundant and cheapest when compared with foods high in protein and fat content. Carbohydrates are burned during body processes to produce energy, giving out carbon dioxide and water. Starches are found mainly in grains, legumes, and tubers, and sugars are found in plants and fruits. Sugars are the smallest units of carbohydrates, and when they join together, they form starch.
Role of Proteins
We need protein to grow and for repairs. Proteins are used to make our body cells. Specifically, they are used in the formation of new protoplasm. Antibodies, enzymes and hormones are also made of proteins. Finally, proteins provide us with energy.
You owe your big and strong muscles to proteins. Besides the muscles, protein can be found almost anywhere in the body because it is used to make cells. Proteins are actually made up of long chains of amino acids. After digestion, the amino acids can be used by our bodies. We need protein to grow and for repairs.
Neither carbohydrates nor fats can provide us with energy, so it is essential to include proteins in our diet. When an excess of protein is eaten, the extra protein is similarly broken down into energy-yielding compounds. Because protein is far scarcer than carbohydrates and yields the same 4 calories per gram, the eating of meat beyond the tissue-building demands of the body becomes an inefficient way to produce energy.
Complete proteins are foods that contain all the necessary amino acids. Most animal foods, such as meat, poultry, fish, eggs, cheese and milk, are complete proteins. Some plant proteins are complete, too. Soybean products, such as tofu, are also complete proteins. Eggs are the best source of complete proteins.
Incomplete proteins are proteins containing small amounts of one or more essential amino acids. Most plant foods are incomplete, such as legumes (beans and peas), nuts, seeds, grains, and vegetables.
Although plant proteins are incomplete, it is still possible to get all the essential amino acids by eating a combination of plant proteins. For example, peanut butter is low in the amino acid methionine. Bread has a lot of methionine, but it lacks lysine and isoleucine. So a peanut butter sandwich becomes a complete protein.
Foods from animal sources contain complete proteins because they include all the essential amino acids. In most diets, a combination of plant and animal protein is recommended: 0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight is considered a safe daily allowance for normal adults.

Carbs is short for carbohydrates and they are a group of organic compounds that includes sugars, and starches and serves as a major energy source in an average diet. They can be good or bad for you- but you want to have a ballanced diet- so look up a food chart and map out your diet and what types of food you should be eating and how much of each.
Also- protein will be in that food chart, its found in meats and nuts....sometimes even a lot of peanut butter can give you some protein. Its vital for your body to have protein- this is why vegitarians have to take a protein supliment....look up abt how much your daily intake should be and use that food chart!

carbs are carbohydrates and are contained in pasta like spaghetti, noodles, etc, and carbohydrates are important for energy and should consume 50% of your diet. protein is contained in milk and is very good for your bones and bodily muscle growth.
to burn lots of calories, you must run quite far distances, or lift heavy weights, this pumps blood around the body very effectively making it fitter and allowing other physically challenging things to be a lot easier than they were before.
