OBAMA SUPPORTERS, did you notice the CHANGE that happened?
George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years.
The first six years the economy was fine. However, a little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19/gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high -- 14,000+
5) American''s were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!
But American''s wanted ''CHANGE''!
So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yes--we got ''CHANGE'' all right!.....
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!!;
3) Unemployment is up to 6% (a 20% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by 12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~10,300--$2.0 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!
*YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE!...AND WE SURE GOT IT!!!....NOW the DEM''S CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT--AND THE POLLS SAY HE''S GONNA BE ''THE MAN''--CLAIMS HE''S GOING TO REALLY GIVE US CHANGE!!....JUST HOW MUCH MORE ''CHANGE'' DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND???*
Depending upon what part of the country you live in, the price of gas will vary one year ago. so maybe inyour part it was 2.39
J-Dogg : I hope you read the Snopes article because it proves the fact that the BUSH ADMINISTRATION was not responsible for the mess that Obama, Pelosi and the Democrats are trying to pin on them.
Kevin Phillips book, Bad Money, which is referenced ends up blaming both political parties for not working together for thirty five years or more.
Maybe that's even more of a reason NOT to elect partisan Obama.
At least McCain has championed a bi-partisan approach to solving America's problems.

This ain't Out of the Bush White House John McCain and Sarah Palin, This is out of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi Leaders in Congress Both Democrats and Rupublicans Most of them Democrats, They made This Happened for the American People They Listen because The Change Means Put People First and Profits Last that's the Difference That's change.

You make an interesting point, however, are the Democrats really responsible for the federal deficit and the above mentioned things? Sometimes it is an unfortunate turn of events, remember, the Republicans still had the presidency. With two major apposing forces in power, Congress & the Executive, one would expect a loss of control. In that respect I can also say that the Republicans are not at fault for the terrorist attacks and having to deal with Osama bin Laden or Al-Qeada, that was just another unfortunate event - the greatest one possibly.

you make good points, and i just wanted to say to all those who *dont support the war* did you ever think that you dont have to!!! the military supports it, and the soldiers are fighting it. you pay taxes no matter what they decide to do, and it goes to the soldiers up keep, living, and training. Iraq is not a bad thing, its something that was going to be eventually inevitable, whether now, or later when Iran had taken them over and decided to draw us in even more. Most guys DONT mind going over there. AND many wouldnt mind going again and again. Yes those with big families would rather not go, but many of the soldiers our taxes are paying for...like being over there. I am a military wife, my hubby has been to Iraq and back, and if it werent for me he would have gone again, volunteered at that.
i know its a bit off subject, but ppl kept bringing up the war, and it really makes me mad that they talk bad about what had to be done. History repeats itself, where exactly are we in our past as a nation?

You do realize that if the democratic party has the majority in congress and there is a republican president that vetoes every piece of democratic leaning legislation then it is hard for congress to do anything at all.
