What do you think, we can reduce taxes by reforming welfare?

I live in a small town in Texas, and there is a family here that works their *** off for their welfare checks! They found out that if you have four family's living under one roof you can claim them all as a dependent as the head of house. Also if you literally have 15 and I repeat 15 kids you get extra money for each one. Three died from freezing to death, but hey they have 12 more. Maybe I'm a bad guy but I kinda think this is horribly wrong, but hey they got a new truck out the deal. The point of this story is the next time you send a check to the IRS just know what your money is being used for. We need to reform welfare and that would reduce taxes, maybe I should run for President. This family is getting around 3500 a month for all the kids and the other families. I'm all for helping people who can't afford to live, but I have a serious problem supporting someone who is too lazy to work. Like I said maybe I'm a bad guy.

Update:

I do live in west Texas, but my town has a population of about 1200. We could have an atom bomb go off and nobody would know. There is no link to any site to prove 3 kids froze to death, but seriously why would I lie about that? I could get the point across without all the details, I'm just stating the facts. I can however show you tombstones.

No, you are not a bad guy at all. We have similar situations where we live too, people on the dole who won't work. They sit out on the porch, the whole family, and watch us after we come home from work 7 days a week. It is very irritating. However, I don't believe that welfare entitlements comprise that much of the overall budget. I believe that the IRS may put out a publication showing a pie chart of spending by category. I just can't track it down right now and have to get to work! LOL!

I think we can reduce welfare by establishing licensing requirements to have children and basing the distribution of licenses on IQ.

Could you provide a link to the story you tell - I live in TX also and somehow, three kids freezing to death might have made it to the news.

Unless you are talking about the Republican LDS offshoot in West Texas and their tendency to live off welfare? That was covered in the press.
