Here's a running list I keep adding to of things to do in all parts of Houston: (There's PLENTY of things on the list for 13 and 14 year olds.)
Reliant Center, Minute Maid Park, George R. Brown Convention Center
Houston Aeros, Texans, Comets, Astros, Dynamos, and the Rockets
38 outdoor public swimming pools in the Houston area
Hermann Park and the Mecom Fountain. Be sure to visit the Japanese Gardens in Hermann Park. One of the most romantic places in the city.
Clear Lake, Lake Conroe, and Lake Houston
Brazos Bend State Park
The George Ranch
Penzey's (516 W. 19th St) in the Heights is a spice-lover's dream. Anyone who's been one of their catalog shoppers simply must stop in to stock up on cinnamons, curries, and other spices.
Miller Outdoor Theater (check online for performance schedule) IT'S FREE
Discovery Green and the many other parks around town. There's horse and buggy rides.

Any sports games in Houston. The zoo (seems like it's for little kids but actually really fun!) underground tunnels, galleria, and also there's an ice rink in the galleria. That's always fun.

Dynamo game & Galleria are both good ideas. Dynamo are playin g LA Galaxy (Beckham & Donovan!) on Oct.18th.
Also, laser tag, paintball, go karts (MountAsia or Track 21), or a good movie.

Well, alot of stuff got ruined in the storm! But they're rebuildng! I'm, schlitterbahn is out temporarily until they rebuild... But there is tonsss of stuff to do! I mean sereiousky!!! Houston is a hugeeee city!!!!

The galleria is a good idea. Kids can spend the whole day and not even notice. Dave & Busters is another good idea. They can eat and play all in one place.

stay home and play board games. seriously theres nothing for 13 and 14 years old to do.
