You should go and have fun.
"All acts of love and pleasure are my rituals."
The rituals of dressing up and going door to door are very much pagan. I see no reason for you to feel that you have to give that up to do something Wiccan.

Go! Enjoy yourself! Anything that brings joy (and candy) into anyone else's life IS a celebration of the new year!
Blessed be! Happy New Year!
Oh, new idea. Have a bon fire! Make smores. You can be discreet and do your own thing on the side. Since you are part of the planning, this will be easy enough to work in. My hubby and friend celebrate Nos Galan Gaeaf, which is pretty much the Welch eqiv. We do a bonfire and roast all sorts of things, lol!
Have a good one!

Simply acknowledging the Sabbat is enough. There's no need for personal festivities that conflict with prior engagements that can't be postponed. Personally, when I'm in that situation, I put aside some time early in the morning or late in the evening before bed to reflect.

you can try to do both celebrate the witches new year at home in your own way and go to the Halloween get together and when you get home celebrate some more a celebration doesn't mean you have to gett a lot of people it can just be by yourself =)

What ever you end up doing will be fine. Sometimes I end up celebrating a sabbat the day after the actual day. Life just happens and the Goddess understands. Have fun...
