What Can I Do in About a Week to Start Looking Better (DIY beauty treatments On the cheap) ?
Need a confidence boost plus my boyfriend is going to be away for a week then really busy at his job for several days after so I ll seee him very little if not at all. We normally are together a lot. We live together most of the time (I stay with family a lot because of my Dad s health) and we used to work together too so I thought it would be a nice surprise if I worked on me a little.
In the long run I know being healthy= looking healthy and as a non-overweight vegetarian I am trying but sometimes it s fun to get a little boost from some skin treatments or a cleanse.
I have mild adult acne and I m a vegetarian.
3 AnswersOther - Skin & Body6 years agoBlue Dye Turned Funny Green Colors?
I've dyed my hair blue three times before and it has never come out badly. However, this time it's a very very bright shade of greenish blue at the roots and gets darker as it goes down. I think the reason is when I bleached it I didn't bleach it long enough because the top of my head was getting so much lighter than the tips and I didn't want to kill my hair.
Bleaching it again sounds dangerous. I have a hot oil treatment I got for Christmas and I heard that helps strip the dye out.
Do I have to strip the dye or can I put a darker blue or black over it and be okay? (I used a blue that was meant to be a fairly light color, if I dye over I'll try to get after midnight blue since I've done it before and like that color).
If I use the hot oil treatment should I put a toner in my hair before I dye it again?
1 AnswerHair1 decade agoA Gift for a Depressed Friend?
My friend is going through a really hard time. Her two closest friends (including me) graduated early from high-school a little while ago. Then her boyfriend moved away (they haven't broken up, she just can't see him very often), and her step father is being an incredible asshole to her through it all. She suffers from unbearable migraines daily and there isn't a medical reason other than stress and genetics. She's not doing well and it hurts to see a friend in pain.
For the Christmas season me and some friends are putting together some care box type things for her. So far we plan to have Drawings, poems, and maybe mixed cds... any suggestions?
5 AnswersFriends1 decade agoAlice in The Asylum Party Theme?
So, I'm kinda notorious for having Wonderland themed parties and the week before Halloween I'm taking it up a notch and having a Halloween Party: Asylum Tea Party style. It will also be a normal Halloween party with costume contests, movies and candy but I want it to give off the general air of Wonderland meets sanitarium. So far I'm going to put up white sheets/blankets in some rooms for the white wall effect (possibly with some blood splatters) Possibly buying a scary rabbit mask to greet people in (http://www.costumeexpress.com/Wicked-Wonderland-Wh...
Any other ideas? Also, I already used facebook to invite people but can I still send out real paper invites?
1 AnswerHalloween1 decade agoMy legs fell asleep for awhile and now the inside of my knee hurts!?
My lower legs and arms fall asleep all the time. Today my legs fell asleep and I didn't notice until I decided to walk around. My feet were so asleep they were completely numb and red. My legs hurt more than usual while waking up and now the inside part of my knees (or the, uh, behind part I guess) hurts really bad whenever I move them. Sitting down makes the pain start to get better but when I start moving around again it comes back.
2 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoHow would you interpret my dream?
I had this dream. In it I’ve fallen asleep on the transit bus and it’s gone way beyond town. At first we’re in a sort of other-Murphys( a small town I live near), as though that town has a much more crowded/ city like twin. I look out the window and in one crowded building I see someone who looks like my mother but doesn’t acknowledge me. The bus rolls on out of town without stopping.
For some reason it doesn’t even cross my mind to ask anyone where we are or tell them I’d forgotten to get off at my stop. My mind frame is too hazy and I feel as though I’m about to drip back into my previous sleep. We’re rumbling through a country side now and the driver yells out, “Next stop Wonderland!”
“Wonderland?” I ask, reaching up to make sure my top hat is securely in place. It is and I feel a new confidence in myself as the bus driver confirms that the next stop is indeed wonderland.
We get off into a wood. There’s several of us, a few wearing top hats but none as impressive (if I may be sanctioned to brag in my own dream,) as mine. I smile at the others and inquire if they’re coming with me. There’s a story board's quality to the dream now. It jumps in time like real memories do.
I see us all gathered beneath the trees on couches and chairs laughing and smiling. I see us all seated in other seats as though the famous ’move down’ had happened. I swing on a giant swing with rose vines living in the ropes. I think that one is in the queens garden. I am having so much fun. I know it’s a dream now but I don’t want it to be.
Then I turn a corner and I face a valley that has clothes lines running all through it with sheets of fabric hanging. The sheets are tie-dyed in a trippy way, with copies all over. Different colors combinations are everywhere. They move and align now and I see only one pattern. It’s black and red and it reminds me of fire. There’s a note on it with different pictures of Alice (from the cartoon) and instructions but I don’t know what it does so I try saying one aloud and after a feeling of disappointment… I wake up.
1 AnswerDream Interpretation1 decade agoI Just Read 'The Killing Joke', What now?
I've always been a fan of Batman cartoons (BTAS) and Movies (all of them, not just Nolan's) but until I bought The Killing Joke on a whim, I've never actually read any of the graphic novels/ comics. I really enjoyed it and I was wondering where to go from here. I know there are a lot of different Batman story lines and series and I'm not sure where to start. I don't even know if you can get copies of the older ones.
2 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade agoMy Myspace Instant Messenger Appears Off screen?
I can't get to it with my mouse and when I try to right click on it in the task bar all I get is the choice to close, pin to toolbar or open it again so I can't right click and press move (in case that was your answer).
1 AnswerMySpace1 decade agoWhy am I drawn to these people?
All my life I've made very close friends who have turned out to be very involved in the paranormal. Even just today, one of my friends who I'd thought wasn't admited that he has been haunted by a spirit on and off through the years. Even as a child I was drawn to people and places. Though I do not have many gifts (I can sometimes sense a spirit but it is a very vague feeling unless one of my more powerful friends are around) the people I unknowingly have surounded myself with do.
Also, one of my friends and I both used to have dreams about a person neither of us has met (he doesn't seem to exist) and upon speaking to eachother about it we found out that this dream guy is the exact same person for both of us.
At the time these dreams started we weren't friends.
All these strange occurences in my life have made me wonder, since my talent is not impressive, why am I drawn to those with talent?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat Characters whear a stove pipe style top hat?
I just bought a stove pipe top hat (like this but not as nice- http://www.sacredfeather.com/wooltophat.gif ) and I was wondering who, other than my one and only The Mad Hatter, wears a similar hat? Anyone from any story/movie/whatever will do (except Abe Lincoln, I know that one).
5 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoWhat's a good song about friends moving away?
one of my best friends is leaving in two days(she just found out) and she's probably not coming back. I wanted to make her a slide show video with all the pictures of our little group hanging out together. Not for youtube...just to burn to dvd and give to her. So I needed some song suggestions. No rap is my only request.
Also, I'm very very sad :(
I just had to tell someone that...
2 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoI had this dream awhile ago, what do you think?
It was in a series of interlocking dreams but I can't remember the others (this wasn't the last one so I don't know why it stuck with me). In the dream I'm only about nine or ten and I'm sneaking around with a friend (no one I know, just another little kid) and I know the house belongs to a creepy guy (I don't know how I knew, it started out as one of those dreams you can't control at all). We heard footsteps coming so we hid in a closet near the living room.
The living room had shelves all on one wall with lots of books. The man puts down a stuffed wolf on one of the shelves and leaves it there. I look for my friend but they're gone. I go to the shelf (I was more in control now) and pick up the stuffed wolf. I see that it's split down the middle with fluff sticking out.
The wolf twists in my hands, as though alive and from nowhere it has what looks like a porcupine quill and string in its mouth. It sews itself back up and I put it back on the shelf where it sits down and growls at me.

13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat are some Mythical occupations(ex:Grim Reaper)?
I was thinking a great story would be for someone to be given a very strange new occupation but I thought that the Grim Reaper was overdone and so is Santa Claus, the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny don't have much to tinker with. What other mythical occupations do you know of (a list or a link to info would be nice) that are interesting to you?

2 AnswersMovies1 decade agoTrying to throw a Mad Tea Party themed welcome back party?
One of my best friends went to live with her dad for a year and is coming back when school is over. We all want to throw her a birthday party and a mad tea party would be perfect since we all like Alice in Wonderland and she was once in a play with a few of us where she was the red queen.
I was wondering if anyone could give me an opinion:
Do you think we should dress up as characters? (we will not be going very disney if we can help it)
Should we have it at the park or at home?
What are some low priced decorations you would suggest?
Would you make this a surprise party?
One Idea I had was inviting her to one of my friends house and have her take her 'on a walk' towards the park and then have a white rabbit costumed friend meet them halfway and take them to the party.....
Any other ideas for us? Game Ideas? Costume Ideas?
ps: we also all love horror movies so if you know any good alice-esque ones we would love the heads up :)

3 AnswersHoroscopes1 decade agoSongs centering on or about the number 11?
For christmas I want to make my friend a CD and, well, she has a thing about the number 11. She seems to think it follows her and since I've hung out with her I've noticed it too.
So far I just have the tool song "Jimmy" but if you could find me some more songs that feature the number I would be grateful

6 AnswersHalloween1 decade agoHow can I get myself back on track?
Now I'm not depressed but lately things have been falling apart around me. First i get major writers block on a story I've been writing for quite some time then I start falling behind in school and I just can't seem to motivate myself. My main problem is that it seems like every time I do accomplish anything it isn't good enough.
