My legs fell asleep for awhile and now the inside of my knee hurts!?

My lower legs and arms fall asleep all the time. Today my legs fell asleep and I didn't notice until I decided to walk around. My feet were so asleep they were completely numb and red. My legs hurt more than usual while waking up and now the inside part of my knees (or the, uh, behind part I guess) hurts really bad whenever I move them. Sitting down makes the pain start to get better but when I start moving around again it comes back.

Update:

I'm not terribly out of shape. That's why it worries me. I walk at least a mile everyday and my legs are the strongest part of me. My arms, yeah they lack muscle but not my legs. My legs have fallen asleep constantly all my life, since I was little.
