Morality:What is reason and Logic?
If morality ultimately comes from what YOU (NOT a higher power) decides is acceptable and not. Right and wrong.
What is morality really if its left up to basic human desires?
Look at people who sell adultery. They make websites that help people cheat. I'm sure we've seen those sites. They make a profit off of and encourage the destruction of ones family. We all know cheating is horrible thing, the path of destruction it can bring on children, spouses, family whatever. What about people who make it a habit of sleeping with other married people. There's a lot of folks like that around with no remorse.
Are these guys who make these sites and people who use them wrong? Can we judge them?
I'm bored, looking for more excitement, people cheat anyways why not make money off it.
If this apart of their personal "reason and logic" for doing what they do does it still count as wrong?
I only use the whole cheating this as an example.
Really aren't we just talking about amorality? Do what ya want and don't get caught if you know its gonna cause problems?
Just trusting humanity to do the right isn't really a good bet to place is?
So really what is reason and logic at the end of the day if its left up basic desire?
I apologize if this is just coming off like ramblings. I tried my best.
I guess this question is more to atheists I think. . . .
Yes, but is it still immoral if the partner who decides to stray makes the CHOICE. If they found reason to screw over their spouse is it still wrong?
My question is how is something "immoral" if its all subjective?

I believe reason and logic deal with facts and evidence that will prove or disprove something. In that respect they are purely objective .I think it is more a scientific method.I believe morality is subjective and is influenced by what parameters we have set for our self or by the parameters others have exposed us to. Our own emotions can also influence how we decide what is morally acceptable. Society as a whole has acceptable moral parameters which the majority of society has accepted over time as "normal behaviour" .There are also laws in place to keep social order as best they can. Many people will think before doing something because they know it is not appropriate. That little voice we hear talking to us is our conscience and it allows us to make positive choices most of thee time. The Ten Commandments give us a strong base for what is right or wrong.I think that they are timeless in their importance to man.I understand the world is made up of believers, atheists and agnostics .I have said before many times that at the end of the day we are all responsible for the choices we make. Blaming other people for our bad choices is for the sleazy talk shows.

There is no way it can be "all subjective". You are dealing with feelings, not logic and reason. If someone gets hurt by your actions, it's wrong. That someone can even be yourself that you're hurting.
As for the cheating and heavy porn sites - yes indeed, we can judge them and some of us judge them harshly. I don't think that anyone can fully understand the damage it does until they have been married or in some way committed to someone who "falls off" into these sites. It becomes their reality and they become completely engrossed in it excluding all else. It doesn't happen to everyone who looks, but you get dangerously close when you even frequent these sites.
The "do what you want" train of thought will hurt you - maybe nobody else will find out, but eventually you will have your own consequences. I think that morality makes life a lot easier to deal with - there is a lot to be said for a clear conscience. The burden of guilt can destroy someone.

My husband and I were just talking about this the other night. People's morals are lowering and have been for some time now. Take strip bars for instance. Years ago, women used to wear bikini's while dancing. Now, they take it all off and do things to their customers that only should be done between a man and a wife. Porn is made to available and its wherever you go. But that's not the only problem. Kids should be raised with morals so that they grow up with them. My parents grew up in the 50's. This stuff wasn't common which meant less crime with women. Things were much better than it is today. They could walk down the street in downtown and not worry. Now, we need to worry during the daytime. I think things have been working against us for a long time now. The world is changing drastically and couples need to work extra hard to keep a marriage. Its sad, but true.

When I am really questioning what to do, I ask WWJD? Like, we had a man working at our house. My dad said do not give him anything to eat and then went out. It was a hot day and I thought, if Jesus were here, He would give the man food.

Morality is subjective. For some, it is immoral if their partner has sex with anyone else. But others have open relationships, where they have no problem with their partner having sex with others. In that case, sleeping with someone else isn't immoral.

your beginning premise is in error. If we decide our own morality, then ultimately you will have Chaos because morality will conform to desire, and man has a sinful nature.
