is anyone familiar with mercedes benz G class convertible it is not known in the states but it is in Europe?
In the states it is known as the G Class, the boxy looking one (G500 / G55) however pretty much all over the world mercedes have a 2 doors convertible version of this go anywhere SUV.
i have seen a few in europe and i love to buy one.
my question is if anyone knows about it or hear about it or seen it.
please give me your honest opinion before i order this truck, i like to hear from you instead of the dealer (it's like the jeep wangler but in a more luxurious level or the landrover defender) your opinion will be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance.

I have never seen one here in the states before. I am a huge fan of the original, so I would have a hard time parting from the traditional body.
But if you want to go topless, there would be no better way.

I absolutely love this truck mercedes came out with. I remember the first day i seen it in red. My next door neighbor bought one and it was alot diffrent then any truck out there. Even thought it resembles other trucks if still has its own unique look and feel to it. My neighbor says he loves it and he has not had any problems with since he has had it. Ive always loved mercedes and bmw's and even thought i believe bmw has fallen behind on their products i stil believe benz is still up there. U should also look at their s-class 550 a beautiful machine or maybee if ur intersted in bmw look at their 750il. I personaly own a 2004 740i .. good luck with ur purchase because u should definitely buy it but of course go drive it and get a reall feel for it before u throw down that big sump...

Write to Mercedes Benz in Stuttgart; Export Sales. They may have some G Class demonstrator models around that they are willing to sell. I do not think they make a U.S. version of the G Class to be exported.
