He does not want to accept responsibility, what should I do?

I got pregnant by someone who let's say is not the best dad. But here is the thing. He does not believe the baby is his. Is there some way (legal subpoena) that can make him take the paternity test? Also, once he takes the test and he finally knows that he is that dad, how do I go about getting him to sign away his parental rights? Honestly, he hates me and wants nothing to do with me even though we have a child together. He refuses to answer e-mails or text messages, and he changed his numbers on me.

Update:

I DO NOT want child support from him @ all. This is more of a moral & emotional issue. I also do not want any doubts in his mind. If the DNA test is done, he *may* want to be in the child's life, but he does not want to have to deal with *me*.

go to the child support office and file on him. he doesn't have to be with you when you go. let them know he is denying and you want to have him take a paternity test. make sure you know where he lives so that he will be served. know all of the places that he might try to hide. also gather all of his personal info that you can, the more you have the better your chances are for getting child support.

    good luck

Source(s): i know this because my husband didn't believe the boys were his. he went behind my back and had a test done. it's different with men because they don't need the mother, just the children. needless to say, "you are the father!"

If you go through the courts to request child support then he can say that he wants a paternity test. That way it can be proven whether he is or isn't.

He can just sign over all parental rights when he wants to. Though you have to realize that you cannot get child support if he signs away his rights.

you can have a dna test done while preg and he can pay support before the child's born. yes the judge can order a dna test. when in court you can ask that they remove his rights, but this will also make it so you don't get any help, child support, medical or social sec from him. all you need to do is go to your local court fill out the papers and the courts will handle the rest just make them aware of the issues.

i went through this with my 10 month old and because there was no father on the birth certificate they sent me something from friend of the court asking if i needed a test we went through it and since he was the father he has to pay for all the tests and child support and as far as him signing his rights off he has to get the papers and sign them and then you two go to court for it

Source(s): been there done that sadly

You should probably contact a lawyer to see what your options are. Many lawyers won't charge you just to meet with them.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Your are WAY better off not having that kind of man around your child...so count your blessings. You're going to do fine and I bet you'll meet someone soon who feels it's an honor to love you and your baby.

Why do you insist of finding out if his the dad, when you will not give him parental rights, i suggest you forget about him and eventually your child will have a dad he deserves and not an asshole like him...go on with your life you don't need someone like that around you child..

    Good luck ...

if he wants nothing to do with you why bother with a DNA test you might just just have the opposite affect

in the uk if you have a dna test and its pr oven he is the father than he has responsibility and unless a court deems him unfit your stuck with him as a father
