Why the heck is Gwen Ifill the moderator for tonights Palin/Biden debate?
Gwen Ifill is writing a favorable book for Obama that is to be released in January! She obviously has a BIASED opinion in favor of Obama/Biden so why is she the moderator for tonights debate? I thought the moderator is supposed to be unbiased in these debates?
Anyone else find this disturbing?

Unlike Rush, Hannity, and the moronic "fair and balanced journalists" from Fox News, Gwen is a professional and is fully capable of being unbiased. Let's not forget that both sides have reviewed the quesions and agreed to them. Gwen as the moderator is a non-issue.

Again? Don't you people ever get tired of asking the same question over and over?
Do you think that Ms Ifill is pulling these questions out of thin air?
There is a panel that writes the questions and they are gone over with a fine tooth comb to make sure they are not biased. Wake up, When Sarah tanks it will be because she is not up to the job, not because the questions were unfair

Wow! GOP will make up any sort of crap to excuse their lack of knowledge won't they?
Why is Bob Schieffer the moderator for the Obama/McCain debate on October 15th? Schieffer is the older brother of Tom Schieffer, a friend and former business partner of President George W. Bush, who was appointed U.S. Ambassador to Australia 2001-2005 by President Bush and as of November, 2005 is currently the U.S. Ambassador to Japan. Why is Tom Brokaw the moderator for the next debate when he throws out lies about the polls on his show? I find it disturbing that Righties whine about fairness but wouldn't know it if it hit them in the face.

Ifill is a nonpartisan...and has written a book about blacks in politics...no one has read it yet...I think your opinion that she is biased is based mainly on her being a black woman and assuming that she will be in the tank for Obama because of that.
McCain agreed to her as the moderator in August...she also moderated the VP debate in 2004.

Look, ifill announced her book in early July. She was ok'd by both sides in August. The book doesn't hit stores until late January. What's the problem? Wait for neocon excuses until after the debate.

Jay, can you think of some examples of what questions Gwen could be asking that would be unfair to Palin, while giving Biden the advantage?
Remember, the McCain folks had already vetted Gwen, just like they vetted Palin. They've okayed her.

Gwen Ifill,in his book, just translates what the majority of the american people think of obama;his individual stance is nothing given the majority of voters already favor obama

She hasn't even written the chapter on Obama yet.
Both the McCain camp and the Obama camp agreed that she would moderate.
The news regarding her book came out April 26th, before McCain agreed to her being moderator,
And going by your logic, Brokaw should not moderate the next presidential debate, as he is a known McCain supporter.
No moderator has ever been asked before a debate who they are going to vote for.
And by the way, McCain said yesterday he thought she would be fair.Today on Hannity, he said he was feeling uncomfortable with her as moderator. Slipping in the polls maybe.

Because she moderated the last VP debate? Because both parties approved of her to moderate the debate? Because McCain has already said he believes she will do a good job? Any of those answers should be fine, all of them are correct.

Since the outcome of this election will be the financial outcome of what she earns of of her Obama book, her role tonight is simply put... a conflict of interest. She should resign, as she cannot do her job without being partial. If the situation were reversed Obama would be whining and crying his eyes out, along with Biden. They should have hired someone who was not in either one of these camps, someone who is for Barr or Nader. This is just another form of the Democratic cheating that has been shown in this financial bailoout..
