Ideas for a fall bridal shower?
I have to help throw a bridal shower for a friend later this month...and we just got done throwing one this summer, and my pocketbook is empty now! We want to do a fall theme, but want to keep it simple and inexpensive. Any ideas for decorations, games, etc? We're doing it at a church where we have access to a lot of tables, chairs, platters, etc.

For decorations, stick with the fall theme. Get mini pumpkins for the center of the tables. I saw them cheap at the supermarket- like 4 for $1.00! Also I saw bags of pretty decorative leaves at Rite-aid for 99 cents! You can sprinkle those on the table and around the pumpkins.
We didn't do games at my bridal shower, just lots of socializing! : ) But I went to a shower where we played BINGO. Get a blank bingo paper and give one to each guest. They fill in gifts they think the bride will receive (sheets, blender, etc.). As th bride opens her gifts, you cross off your BINGO sheet. Whoever makes BINGO first from each table wins a prize.

For a fall theme, stick to the fall colors.. reds, oranges, yellow... As the other answer said about the pumpkins, you can even use those as centerpieces... You can serve a dessert, like pumpkin pie (just buy a pre-made one from the local grocery store).. For games, I can't think of much.. Maybe put a colored sticker under the pumpkin, and whoever gets a specific color, wins a small prize? There are so many "bridal shower games" that people have come up with...

Decor- leaves! Make things out of leaves from outdoors
Display bowls - put some leaves into the bottom of a glass bowl then add nuts pinecones, acorns and evergreen leaves. You can also make some autumn fruit displays - combine apples, pears and plum with burnt orange slices and cinnamon sticks. Add some nuts (perhaps roasted chestnuts) - the smell will be sensational for days! Put these displays on your coffee table, dining table or sideboard.
Squash/pumpkin displays - put them into large baskets, or cut the top off, then take the flesh out and make them into candleholders, vases or even soup bowls (lovely for serving roasted pumpkin or butternut squash soup!) Of course for Halloween you must carve the pumpkin into a scary head lantern! Tips: spraying the inside with hair spray will keep it fresh longer! coating the edges with petroleum jelly will seal in the moisture!
Ornaments - you can paint-spray the dried leaves, acorns & nuts then hang them in windows or create garlands for the mantel. The leaves you can also use as under-mats for plates & glasses or to display food on them at dinner parties! Or you can glue them onto candles, paper boxes or to decorate scrapbook covers, photo albums, picture frames, wrapping papers and many other craft projects.
Courtyard deco - make a wreath from the twigs and berries and hang them on the door. Put pumpkins and fruits on the doorstep - these don’t even need to be decorated, jut arrange them attractively.
Food- Comfort finger foods and fall deserts
