Magic the Gathering Unchristian?
I am a Christian and I want to please God, but I find Magic the Gathering TCG to be very cool and interesting. Should I give it up, or is it okay to play and still be a Christian?

By asking this question, it is obvious you know its wrong but you are looking for someone to nod his/her head of approval.
Remember this, if you get involve with the occult, be prepared for God's wrath. Anything that is not from God is from the devil.

Magic the Gathering is basically considered Unchristian by people who see the game as people attempting to be God. In reality, the number of people who play the game to feel power is incredibly small. Most people (and everyone I've ever met) simply plays it because it's fun. I don't have any thoughts of omnipotence or being any better than before, it's just a card game.
Too many people believe the same thing of games related to Magic and to counter-top RPG games, such as D&D. These games are meant to be played and enjoyed, and if you are one of the people who plays because of power hungry obsessions, I strongly suggest help. However, there really isn't anywhere in any doctrine I've read or heard that says 'It's against the commandments to play a fun card game'. I doubt God would do that.

start mtg. lots more stratagie in magic and the decks arent as simple as 3 bora 3 shurra ect. magic requires lots of counting and turn calculation. yugioh only relies on luck and the ban list. i used to play yugioh for like 7 yr but i started magic like 6 months ago and im hooked. also magic doesnt allow packs that are more than 6 rotations old so the game is always fresh so new players like u and me can start quickly without having to buy out of print boosters. also yugioh is really hella expensive compared to magic. the yugioh card qualiity is really bad and doesnt even pass the bend test. so go buy a magic intro pack and some boosters and start playing magic TODAY.

If your faith is so weak that Magic: The Gathering threatens it, it hardly matters. Last time I checked, being a Christian isn't supposed to mean your brain turns to cheese and a mere fantasy will turn you to the darkside. I hope you won't let any sanctimonious people convince you it does.

Yeah, I'm afraid the rules for being a Christian rule out the "cool" stuff. Tough, but at least you won't be burning in Hell like this old sinner... on the other hand, Heaven sounds pretty dull to me, so you might want to join me...

I'm a Christian and while I haven't played that game in probably 10 years, I do still have thousands of cards and I'd still get a competition with friends going if anyone I knew actually still played. Just don't delve so deep into it that you feel the need to neglect your faith. Otherwise, it's just a game.

It's cool dude. Men are that they might have joy. I don't see anything wrong with it at all. Just a fun thing to do. Of course you know it's fantasy and as long as it's not taking over your life, don't worry a bit about it!
...and I still haven't found a Black Lotus! arrrg :@

it's just a game...unless you're worshiping it, there's nothing wrong with it
somewhere I think I still have a pile of dusty old magic: the gathering cards still

Well it won't really help any but make sure your spiritual state is sharp enough to discern where it might be poisoning you. Admittedly saying that will make people think you're weird, but "Stop regarding man whose breath is in his nostrils, for why should he be accounted?" (Isaiah 2:22.)
I'd suggest reading Ezekiel 36. Or it might be 37.

Magic is bad for a Christian. It opens them up to alot of punishment. If the game remains JUST a game then your battle is to keep it that. Be careful. (I would avoid anything that put me at risk)
