It is because you are listening or watching the left wing liberal social biased media. Think about it. I think Palin hit a grand slam. Biden is just an old blowhard. I saw this morning where the news said Biden had Palin in the cross hairs. I think Palin had Biden by the short hairs.

Dude, the reason why we're in this mess is because people *need* to pay more attention to history. We have a lot of issues to be fixed in America, and learning from the MANY mistakes that were made is one way to understand what we must do next as a nation. Hey, Black Monday happened in '88, and under the same/worse economic policies as Reagan, we are facing this clusterbomb now.

And the deregulation deal? Sure it happened in '99, but it also happened under a Republican ruled House and Senate.

Tax increases for the richest 1% of the nation sounds logical and reasonable, and will allow for breaks for those of us who make less than 250,000 dollars a year. What *exactly* is the problem with this?

Simple. Palin dodged a lot of questions leaving me to believe that she does not know a lot of the policies and mechanisms to properly work at a high federal office.

She looked confident but she did not look commanding... and at times she looked like she was lost in policy talk; even her own running mate's policy.

This debate was not a disaster for her but she didn't hit it out the park. People that LOVED Palin yesterday will still love her... and the rest of us are still very unsure of her capabilities.

He certainly dodged the question where the moderator asked him what promises he and Obama has made that they will not be able to keep.

He went into a long tirade against McCain as if McCain's policies were promises made by Obama.

I don't know if Joe heard the question, or if he just went off the deep end knowing that he could not list all of the things he and Obama have promised, but will not be able to deliver.

Biden actually answered the questions asked, while making a comparison to what the Bush Administration had done in the past. Palin clearly refused to answer most of the questions and constantly kept going back to the only thing that she knows which is energy. I would've liked to see her at least attempt to answer the questions that were asked for her. But it looks like she feels that she is above answering the moderators questions.

What the hell were you watching? Palin directly answered few questions. She even made a point of telling the commentator that she wasn't going to give an answer but instead wanted to merely spout party rhetoric and slogans. Palin was all fluff and no substance.

She DID dodge questions. She doesn't have the experience, hence she has to dance around and evade the questions. Her answers were repetitive and they really lacked substance. Her strategy didn't work this time. You cannot pull the same stunts you pulled in debating for governor, when you're running for VP. Gimme a break.

And Biden was talking about Bush, b/c his points were very clear when he was distinguishing him and Obama as change and McCain as some of the very same.

Biden blew it out of the water:)

You're wrong. I'll give some examples:

Ifill: "What promises -- given the events of the week, the bailout plan, all of this, what promises have you and your campaigns made to the American people that you're not going to be able to keep?"

Biden: "Well, the one thing we might have to slow down is a commitment we made to double foreign assistance. We'll probably have to slow that down."

Ifill: "Senator Biden, how, as vice president, would you work to shrink this gap of polarization which has sprung up in Washington, which you both have spoken about here tonight?"

Biden: "Well, that's what I've done my whole career, Gwen, on very, very controversial issues, from dealing with violence against women, to putting 100,000 police officers on the street, to trying to get something done about the genocide in -- that was going on in Bosnia. And I -- I have been able to reach across the aisle. I think it's fair to say that I have almost as many friends on the Republican side of the aisle as I do the Democratic side of the aisle."

Ifill: "You (Biden/Obama) proposed raising taxes on people who earn over $250,000 a year. The question for you is, why is that not class warfare?"

Biden: "Well Gwen, where I come from, it's called fairness, just simple fairness. The middle class is struggling. The middle class under John McCain's tax proposal, 100 million families, middle class families, households to be precise, they got not a single change, they got not a single break in taxes. No one making less than $250,000 under Barack Obama's plan will see one single penny of their tax raised whether it's their capital gains tax, their income tax, investment tax, any tax. And 95 percent of the people in the United States of America making less than $150,000 will get a tax break. Now, that seems to me to be simple fairness. The economic engine of America is middle class. It's the people listening to this broadcast. When you do well, America does well. Even the wealthy do well. This is not punitive. John wants to add $300 million, billion in new tax cuts per year for corporate America and the very wealthy while giving virtually nothing to the middle class. We have a different value set. The middle class is the economic engine. It's fair. They deserve the tax breaks, not the super wealthy who are doing pretty well. They don't need any more tax breaks. And by the way, they'll pay no more than they did under Ronald Reagan."

Ifill: "Senator, what is true and what is false about the causes (of climate change)?"

Biden: "Well, I think it is manmade. I think it's clearly manmade. And, look, this probably explains the biggest fundamental difference between John McCain and Barack Obama and Sarah Palin and Joe Biden -- Governor Palin and Joe Biden. If you don't understand what the cause is, it's virtually impossible to come up with a solution. We know what the cause is. The cause is manmade. That's the cause. That's why the polar icecap is melting. Now, let's look at the facts. We have 3 percent of the world's oil reserves. We consume 25 percent of the oil in the world. John McCain has voted 20 times in the last decade-and-a-half against funding alternative energy sources, clean energy sources, wind, solar, biofuels. The way in which we can stop the greenhouse gases from emitting. We believe -- Barack Obama believes by investing in clean coal and safe nuclear, we can not only create jobs in wind and solar here in the United States, we can export it. China is building one to three new coal-fired plants burning dirty coal per week. It's polluting not only the atmosphere but the West Coast of the United States. We should export the technology by investing in clean coal technology. We should be creating jobs. John McCain has voted 20 times against funding alternative energy sources and thinks, I guess, the only answer is drill, drill, drill. Drill we must, but it will take 10 years for one drop of oil to come out of any of the wells that are going to begun to be drilled. In the meantime, we're all going to be in real trouble."

what about these flat out lies that palin stated as "straight talk"....

Obama Voting 94 times To Increase Taxes?:

Sarah Palin: "Barack Obama had 94 opportunities to side on the people's side and reduce taxes and 94 times he voted to increase taxes or not support a tax reduction. 94 times."

The facts on this have been widely commented on since the Republican National Committee began using this erroneous fact in July of this year. Of the 94 votes, 23 did not increase taxes were votes against proposed cuts. Seven of the votes were offset votes, calling for taxes for some, but less taxes for others. Some measures had more than one vote, which compounds the number. According to non-partisan www.FactCheck.org, 53 of 94 votes were budget measures that had nothing to do with raising taxes.

Sarah Palin Pushed to Raise Taxes as Mayor of Wasilla:

Palin said: "As mayor every year I was in office I did reduce taxes."

When she was mayor Sarah Palin successfully pushed for a referendum to raise local sales taxes to pay for a multi-use sports complex. In a Wasilla City Hall memo obtained by CBS News, Palin said it made sense to raise taxes because there was strong support for the hockey rink, the private sector had failed to step in and because it would be good to use government money to prevent social problems instead of spending money to try and fix them.

Source(s): Its just plain truth. deal with it.

Palin avoided ALL substantial questions and filled it with empty rhetoric. That was like 5yrs kid in the adult party - everybody listen politely what she has to say and then ignore her.
