Is there a way to stream music when in IM so we both hear the same?
I want to be able to share tracks in Y! messenger or MSN style IM so that my contact hears the same as I do. Y! "share music" option is a low quality feed working on voice call - I want a listening quality stream (say 96k) without a voice call. Any ideas? not looking for just a P2P share of files, but a real time "here- listen to this with me" facility.

Since the stream to each listening computer is separate, you won't hear the stream at exactly the same time. But you can use the Icecast server, with Winamp. There are instructions all over the web. (Your contact can use WMP or Winamp to listen.)
