The horrendous downfall over the past few weeks might slow some. But there won't be a bounce. She might have stopped the bleeding but that's about it.

0 to -3. By virtually every poll, Biden won the debate by at least an 18 point margin, and upwards of 30 in some.
Gov Palin's performance exceeded expectations, however the bar for her was set so low by her fumbling performance in the interviews the past 2 weeks than anything short of setting the stage on fire while lighting a cigar would have been a plus.
To see any positive bounce in the McCain-Palin polls would have required a slam-dunk performance by her and a series of major gaffes by Biden. Neither of those happened.

I do believe both did well. But Palins expectaions were very low, so for her to do well she didnt have to accomplish much. Biden was expected to do well because of his years of expierence. I do not think that McCain will get an upwards bounce. I believe Obama will continue on his steady gain and McCain will stay about the same. I dont think that she did such a good job that she would change any undecided voters minds to go for McCain because she did seem prepped to me.

Probably less than 1.
The initial Palin bounce is over. She would have had to destroy Biden to do any good for McCain. She did the best she could, which in this case is to do no further harm.
In the end analysis she did a very good job staying on the talking points in what was essentially another scripted venue. Those who were beguiled by her before will remain so.
But being able to parrot the party line effectively and understanding any of it? Quite another thing.
She is half a mile wide and half an inch deep.

I think Obama will get a bounce. The undecided voters pegged Biden as the winner by about 25- 30% margin. The debate will have little effect on the polls, but may give Obama a slight boost. Sorry Charlie.

As a McCain supporter Amber. I doubt very much it will make a significant change. People are very angry over this economy right now. And even angrier over the passing of this bailout bill, I know I'm ticked about it. Usually bad economic times go in favor of the party trying to gain the White house.
Which in this case is Obama.. I could be wrong though..

I think Gov Palin succeeded in reassuring her party's base, but did little to convince undecided voters to go for her ticket. I don't think there will be a post-debate bounce in McCain's favor.

Zilch. VP debates almost never make any real difference and Palin was not nearly good enough to buck this trend.

None. More than likely it will go the other way. Biden won the debate.

no change. palin did well as did biden but the debate was in no way a game changer.
