Do you think Kyle Bush's talent is overrated because of the media?
13 AnswersNASCAR10 years agoObama & Acorn forced banks to give subprime loans?
Since Obama forced banks to offer subprime loans to minorities in Chicago shouldnt we blame him for being part of this supposed "predatory" lending problem? And since he was taking so much money from Freddy and Fannie, should he be investigated for his role in this whole mess?

Please provide a range of what you think the different polls will say is the point change after the VP debate last night. Most people say that both did well, how will the polls say it went down.
13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoManipulating the media?
Do you think the Democrats are manipulating the media? I mean, in the primaries, when Clinton would go to speak on TV, Obama, would tried to give his exit speech at the same time, to knock Clinton off the TV. Typically one candidate would wait for the other to finish...respectfully. Obama did not. I also noticed when Clinton would give speeches at universities that the Obama camp would be at that college and give out free Dave Matthews band tickets to keep the turn out low. When McCain announced his VP pick it gave the Republicans a huge bounce in the polls. And then almost out of nowhere Obama, agrees to go on OReilly? I guess he needed to stop the bleeding and get back on the air. Then last night, for the debates Barney Frank out of nowhere goes on OReilly, I guess they were hoping people would watch Frank get slaughtered by OReilly instead of the Palin debates. And lastly and probably more importantly, The Dems would supported the bailout from day #1 and who control the congress could have single handedly passed the Bailout without the help of any Republicans but yet for some reason couldn't do it until the day after the Palin debates. Trying to knock her off the TV and commentators radar? Sure seems like the Media is being manipulated to me.
By the way, I couldn't help but laugh last night when Biden said he was for the Bailout and Obama was undecided. Why can't that Obama risk his name for anything. He is playing the middle of every issue and thinking people wont notice that he takes no stands for anything.
5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoMaybe Bush is just too smart for his own good?
I found this very interesting considering the finger pointing going on. I believe our situation is caused by Clinton setting it up so that everyone can get a home loan at sub prime rates with no money down.
Here is an excerpt for an article in the New York Times, dated September 11, 2003:
The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.
Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.
The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios.
The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt -- is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors, and critics have said Fannie Mae does not adequately hedge against rising interest rates. ...
The proposal is the opening act in one of the biggest and most significant lobbying battles of the Congressional session. ...
''The current regulator does not have the tools, or the mandate, to adequately regulate these enterprises,'' Mr. Oxley said at the hearing. ''We have seen in recent months that mismanagement and questionable accounting practices went largely unnoticed by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight,'' the independent agency that now regulates the companies. ...
Significant details must still be worked out before Congress can approve a bill. Among the groups denouncing the proposal today were the National Association of Home Builders and Congressional Democrats who fear that tighter regulation of the companies could sharply reduce their commitment to financing low-income and affordable housing.
''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."

11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy is Yahoo censoring my direct Obama questions?
Yahoo for some reason has decided to remove my direct Obama questions... why is this? There were legitimate questions. I find often on Yahoo, there is media bia for Obama and this type of censorship is a joke. Anyone have any clue about this?
3 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhat does Obama avoid answer tough questions?
I am admittedly not an Obama supporter, I was actually rooting for Clinton, but why does Obama continue to dodge the tough questions? On one interview, he was directly asked about his thoughts on abortion and he said "I cannot answer that question with any "specificity" because it is above my pay grade." Maybe he thinks that is funny or clever, but he flat out does not answer the question. I mean if he won't answer how will people know what he really believes in. I mean, I get it, he wants everyone to believe he is for CHANGE. But funny thing is change means different things to different people. And for those that do not ask, they will get taken in the end. Obama purposefully avoids answering the tough questions, he is too afraid to take a side on any issue. If he took a side someone would end up being upset. But do people really want to let him get the job without taking a stance. I mean, what if you thought he agreed with a majority of your issues, but then found out after the fact that the one issue, you would never budge on, he is the exact opposite on. For instance, if you are for gay marriage and found out after he was in office that he supported legislation against gay marriage how would you feel. It's 2008, don't you think even Obama supporters should be speaking up and asking the tough questions of him? What are your thoughts, will his lack of experience, race dropping habits, and failure to answer the tough questions shock people when it is too late.?

6 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoFlorida & Michigan deserve a chance for their votes to count. ??
Obama, has had the lead for some time, but now that people are finally finding out about him and his ideas, he has failed to secure a direct victory over Clinton or even make the gap larger. I have to think that the deciding votes lie in FL and Michigan. I understand the agreement by the DNC to exclude them, but I wonder how the DNC can do that. Don't they know they are disenfranchising people. I mean, how can you pick and choose which states you want to include in your election. Would we support eliminating southern states which may have favored Obama, had there been some erroneous reason to do so? I understand why they wanted to do it, but I cannot fathom any dem that would have ever thought the race would be this incredibly close. They are 100-150 difference. And it has been that way for a while. I know people have their mind made up because it may help or not help their person. But is it truely fair to keep them out of the election. There must be a fair equal way to hold elections.
6 AnswersElections1 decade agoObama flip flopping on Wright for May 6th vote?
Obama waited to see how the Rev Wright thing would affect votes in Pennsylvania. He got his butt handed to him by Clinton with a double digit loss. So is Obama changing his tune on Rev Wright in order to try to save lost votes in the May 6th vote??? What do you think? I think Wright's previous comments were inappropriate, unamerican, racist, and certainly not of religious content, but Obama, stuck with him and even supported to Reverand. However, now he says his latest comments are hate speech?? Has anyone acutally heard these new comments? How do they compare to the previous ones. Why am I not surprised Obama is again flip flopping like he did on Nafta.
13 AnswersElections1 decade agoAre the Obama's playing on race?
I have heard the Obama's make several questionable statements as of late. But this latest one where Michelle Obama is on Colbert, saying Obama is going to bring "folk" so representation they haven't be getting and finally going to get their issues address. She made some comment about all people working together. This really bothers me, because I have hear Obama say the same thing. He seems to imply he is going to do all this for minorities and they ends with a blanket statement of everyone working together. The more and more I hear, he seems racist to me. I don't think he is blatantly racist, but I think subconsciously, he has the mentality that it is US VS THEM (whites vs blacks). He certainly seems to suggest he is going to do for blacks what no one else has done????? and they finishes his racial statements by saying we all need to work together. OR yes, whites are upset about the economy or people are made in small towns so they vote about guns and religion. He is full of BS.
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHas Obama changed your mind?
I think Obama had a tremendous amount of support at first. Many did not really know much about him, but got the idea he was "different." But know we are hearing so much about him, his background affiliations with people like Tony Rezko, Rev Wright, his thoughts on whites, the poor, the religious, gun owners, illegal aliens and gays. Are people changing their minds on Obama?
21 AnswersElections1 decade agoDo you think they should be allowed to exclude Florida and Michigan?
Even if Florida & Michigan moved their elections up, do think it is fair to penalize all the voters? We certainly knew HIllary was going to be a front runner in the 2008 election, could this have been a way to get her back for what happened in the last election. Had Obama, been a favored front runner for the 2008 election and the DNC decided to exclude say Mississippi and Georgia the world of Obama, Obama supporters, & minorities would be in an uproar. Although, I am not a Clinton supporter, I can see where she would benefit from this, but in all honesty, wouldn't taking all the votes and voter choices in consideration be the best way to determine what America wants. For all the finger pointing that the Obama camp does at saying Clinton is trying to rewrite the runs, one has to wonder. No one ever expected the Dem race to be so close. Had then even thought it was possible, do you really believe they would leave any votes on the table? People should do what is right & what is fair 4 all
7 AnswersElections1 decade agoSean Hannity caught Obama in other big lie about his speech today.?
Just last week on the Sean Hannity show Sean asked Obama about what his pastor was saying, and Obama directly responded he had never heard his pastor say any of the thing Sean was describing. Yet, today, he says he personally sat in Church and heard the pastor make several of these commments. I mean Hannity played them back to back. And from one week til now it was a complete reversal of what he said last week. Almost word for word. This is offically the second flat out lie that I have personally heard with my own two ears. Not second hand accusations, but on tape, heard back to back, this is the second time he has been busted. Is he just a big fat liar who thinks he can say and do anything with no accountability? What will he do if he gets in office? This has to be the worst crop of political candidates for the presidential election in a long long time. Very disappointed with all of them.

12 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoDid Obama say he condems his pastor, but agrees with him all at the same time?
This the the time old saying that if you add "god bless your heart to the end of any sentence it makes it alright." "That is the ugliest baby I've ever seen, god bless your heart." That is how I felt about Obama's preconceived speech today. It was like he was saying, "I did not know anything about what he was saying, but I kinda agree." On one hand he said it was inappropriate (notice how he didn't call it racist) and on the other he was making excuses as if it were OK. He at one point tried to blame the founding fathers for owning slaves. What does that have to do with anything? He talked about the black value system. If it were a white value system would it be OK. I do not know how you apologize (not directly) and at the same time try to say how you could see he could be agree about. Nothing. You can't hate all white for something a white or some whites did, presently, currently, in history, in the past etc etc . That's racism. Obama's lack of a direct apology is a joke.
