Does it bother you when people don't bother to check on their questions?
Just wondering how y'all feel about this, cause it kinda bothers me when a question is asked and several people make an effort to write a good answer and sometimes even do some research to give a better answer, and then the person who asked the question doesn't even bother to check on it anymore??? I hate when that happens. How do you guys feel about that?

I have noticed that some people do come in to read after having seemed to ignore a question, you can see it sometimes in how they ask a new question.
In one answer I asked the asker to let us know she had read it, by voting if nothing else. She added something before the question could have been resolved, saying that she can only come to answers once a week. But she obviously forgot the option to extend a question nor did she leave comments to any of the resolved questions, :-/
I often comfort myself with the fact that other people will browse the resolved questions and read the answers, sometimes commenting, sometimes giving a TU.
That is also a reason that I often make the answer a little more general than the asker seem to need, as in giving the full information on age or visa.
But it would be so much better if the majority of the best answers were chosen rather than voted, and if voted, with at least 10 people casting votes, not just the one or two now often the case.

It sometimes bothers me, but remember that the people on here asking questions are the same people you see in malls or anywhere else; there are the grateful ones and those who can't bother to be polite and say thank you. My favorites are the ones who say "x amount of points to the first correct answer" and never even bother to pick a best answer.

It bothers me some when I see it, especially when it goes to vote and the chosen answer is stupid and/or completely irrelevant (I think a lot of people vote for their own answers, lol). The majority of the questions I've asked are in this category. Every one of them received some great and helpful answers (particularly from Willeke and bla bla :P). I think there was only one case I didn't get back to a question in time and it went to vote. Luckily the answer that got chosen was the one I would have picked.

I try to give helpful and insightful answers. I have wondered if people go back and check on the answers. I get votes for best answer sometimes so I know some people do respond. But I have wondered if some answers just get ignored. That's disappointing.
- How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

I guess people are too busy to remember their yahoo answers cos this happened to myself at times(i never have "check your yahoo answers on my calendar). Or when i really cant decide which one should be picked as the best answer, i leave it to the community. I believe most people have their reasons, what i hate is when somebody asks a question, gets what he wants and then leaves without giving out anything. That's plain selfish.

It's true in the Travel-NL and Travel Europe sections, it seems like the vast majority of answers go to vote without the person voting BA.
When starting Y!A then yes it bothered me. A 'thanks' or a couple of words to say it was helpful, is something that is really nice..... however to be honest, I don't let it bother me now.
What does make me wonder though is when they place an identical question later (this one being a prime example http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AukCC... - did they not like the answers, are they expecting more .,.... or just being a pain in the you-know-where?

What makes you think of they do no longer examine for solutions?... they won't remark or make the hardship to %. the terrific solutions... In life, some persons are grateful and could exhibit that thankfulness, whilst others will swoop up what they choose and not employing a be conscious... although, some ask stupid questions and could no longer possibly anticipate a reaction...Who knows of, stay life and do the terrific you are able to...

It bothers me too. Thankfully I'm not the only one frustrated by this.
