There is no tube line from Stansted Airport to Central London.
You could take a coach or a bus or a train however. Ask when you get to the airport, staff should tell you where to go :)

Stansted is not in London, it's in Cambridgeshire. You need to get to London before getting on the tube. You have two options. You can get the Stansted Express to Tottenham Hale and catch the Victoria Line into London or you can go all the way to the City to Liverpool Street and catch the tube from there. www.stanstedexpress.co.uk for prices.

Stansted is about 31 miles from Central London (straight line). The tube stations are normally a maximum of 15 miles from Charing Cross in central London (although one line in the northwest direction goes to 25 miles).
-------------
Of the four airports in London, only Heathrow has a tube stop. The other ones have express trains or buses.
-------------
The Stansted Express is the fastest way to Liverpool Station in London, and the bus to Victoria Station is the cheapest.
-------------
It may be easier to take the bus if you are staying near Victoria Station.

There's a city train, the Stansted Express, from Stansted airport (right in the airport at a lower level) that you can catch. It takes about 40 or 45 min. to get to the Liverpool Street station and from there you can catch the Tube. It's quite fast and easy. See: https://www.stanstedexpress.com/ryanair/Tickets.as...

City Airport (out by Docklands) is "as the crow flies" nearest to the city centre. HOWEVER, there are limited flights to that airport and it can take you as long to get you into the centre as there is no dedicated express train from there. As far as express trains go, Heathrow is quickest as the train takes 15 minutes. Gatwick train takes 40 minutes and Stansted and Luton can take a couple of hours.

I booked with easybus for transport between stansted and the city centre for 2 weeks time. The bus will drop me off on Buckingham palace road, so it's not that far from victoria. It cost me £13 for a return ticket and they work out the times of your bus according to your flight time too.
