Has anyone had an old Wedgewood stove top re-chromed?

We have a 36" Wedgewood stove (oven/broiler on left side, flat pan storage on right side with room heater vents on right side). This stove works very well and we were thinking of simply having the top re-chromed. Have you ever had this done? I would like to know what is involved, how much it cost, if it was worth it, etc. Any opinions would be great. Thanks.

Look in your yellow pages for "plating" and call. I looked into it for a 1893 stove and couldn't afford it. Maybe you will be able to.
