Is this apple crisp recipe "heart healthy"?

I want to make an apple crisp recipe for our neighbor who very recently had a heart attack. I have found a few recipes, but they all call for some weird ingredients that I don't have. Is this recipe considered heart healthy?

1/2 cup Butter or Margarine

1-3/4 cup Brown Sugar, lightly packed

2/3 cup All-Purpose Flour

2/3 cup Oats

1/4 tsp Cinnamon

2 tbsp Flour and Sugar

6 peeled and sliced apples

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 1-½ quart square-baking dish. Cream together butter and sugar. Stir in a crumbly mixture of cinnamon, oats, and flour. Arrange in prepared casserole. Sprinkle with crumbs. Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.

Update:

1st of all, whole wheat flour isn't a "common" thing to have in the house.

AND, now I am really confused. One person said to use olive oil, one said not to use it.

One said this is an OK recipe to make, one said NO it isn't.

One said to use 1/2 stick of butter and 1/4 cup of canola oil.

    Heart Healthy Apple Crisp

As far as desserts go, this is pretty healthy. It uses fresh ingredients; it's homemade... there are no preservatives or too much saturated fats. The only "fat" in this recipe would be the butter. 1/2 a cup (which is one stick) is not too bad. You can always try using "Smart Balance" (a heart healthy alternative) instead, but it may change the taste of the overall product. If you are willing to sacrifice some sweetness just to be on the safe side, I would think that could be a good alternative. Oh yes, and oats are very good for your heart =]

    Apple Crisp is yummy =D

Desserts are meant to be sweet. Everything is meant to be eaten in moderation. Baking with olive oil is not a good idea. You might as well not even make it; it won't be apple crisp. The butter is what holds the crumb part together.

For future reference though, if you ever need to cook with veggie oil, you can always substitute that with canola oil or olive oil THEN. =]

Use wholewheat flour to be healthy and everyone should use this anyway. Subsitute eating apples for cooking apples and then you don't need to use any sugar. Use olive oil instead of butter. Use some raisins too to add some sweetness as raisins contain antioxidants which are good for your heart. Butter is high in saturated fat even if the cooking is homemade!

This is a good recipe. I would use half a stick of butter (not margarine) and 1/4 cup of cannola oil. Serving size is the primary factor in determining what is healthy. One 1/2 cup serving is fine---half of the entire dish is not.

Nice of you to be so thoughtful.

This is not good for someone who has just had a heart attack. He needs to avoid fats as much as possible. Make him baked apples instead, stuffing them with cinnamon, nuts and a little brown sugar.
