Why not Astrology be banned by Govt., since it can be proved that it is not a science?

Question

For instance, the time of birth itself, (which is the basis for all Jaathakas) is not defined properly, to the universal acceptance.
What is the time of birth of a baby?          1.Is it the time when the Aayah comes out from the Delivery room and announces the birth?     2.Is it the time when the limbilical chord is cut off?    3.Is it the time, when the baby comes out from the womb?    4.  Is it the time, when the baby first starts to cry?  5 Whether the watch referred to at that time, is really accurate to the standard time of the country?  6. Why only Hindus have Horoscopes and not Muslims, Christians and westners?  How can anyone prove that Stars and planets influence people in their day to day life?
How can astrologers predict 100% correctly, by studying the horoscopes and tell about education, life expectancy, job, marriage, wealth, relationships, etc etc of a person, stating that Planets influence all these on human beings and that these astrologers have powers to predict them in advance.?   How can they suggest remedies by way of poojas, shanthis, etc,  to overcome bad predictions?    Why not people be realistic, rationalistic and discard the Astrology and astrologers,totally and demand the Govt. to ban it totally?

to most Americans,horoscopes are light entertainment to pass a moment during a tea break or train ride.

I think what the poster may be asking is why the Government doesnt ban the abuse of the gullible in certain communities who take horoscopes far more seriously by charlatans who make a lot of money out it.

Well, thats the thing about "multiculturalism" - everything is "valued" everything is "respected" nothing is condemed or discouraged as that would indicative of white cultural imperialism eh? I'm afraid change has to be led fromwithn communities and then when change is eventually effected, mainstream society will still be berated for not having "helped"! catch 22 and meanwhile the new arrivals and the non-english speakers always, always suffer the most......

Because of the whole freedom thing. It would be nice if we dropped all the supernatural mumbo jumbo - religion, astrology, etc. - but you can't force people to do that. Hopefully the day will come - but we're far from there yet.
