Never saw the Nicholas Cage film called the Weather Man. But it might be it.

Not sure about a weatherman/woman film, but "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" is a movie about two people trying to become the lead news anchor. It has Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate in it.
