What's a good recipe for homemade tzatziki?
I usually just add crushed fresh garlic, onions, pepper, salt, and cucumber to plain yogurt. Anything else I could do?

TZATZIKI
1 1/4 c. plain non fat yogurt
2 lg. cucumbers, peeled and seeded
Salt
1-2 garlic cloves
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. dry dill
1 tsp. high quality olive oil
Freshly ground pepper
Line a sieve with either a double thickness of dampened cheese cloth or linen tea towel. Spoon in yogurt and set the sieve over a bowl. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours or until yogurt is about half its volume, nicely thick and creamy.
Either shred or cut cucumber into julienne strips. Place in a colander in sink or over a bowl. Sprinkle generously with salt. Mix well and let drain for at least 30 minutes to one hour. Rinse and gently pat between paper toweling.
Press the garlic into a bowl and, using a fork, mash it with a little bit of salt. Add the thickened yogurt, cucumber, lemon juice, pepper, dill and olive oil. Mix well. Serve or refrigerate up to 2 days so flavors will mingle. Stir again before serving and sprinkle with additional dill if desired.

TZATZIKI
2 garlic cloves (or more if desired)
1/2 kilo yogurt
1 tender, chopped cucumber
2 tbsp. oil
1 tbsp. vinegar
Salt, pepper
Pound the garlic in a stone mortar and sprinkle with a little salt and pepper. Mix oil with the vinegar and add to the garlic pulp. Clean the cucumber and cut in small pieces.
Put the yogurt in a bowl and gradually add the mixture of garlic, oil and vinegar and then the cucumber pieces, mixing all the while. Serve in a salad bowl for a very fresh summer salad. Spread on bread to eat.

Try adding about a table spoon of dill, 2 table spoons of olive oil, and 2 table spoons of lemon juice to your current recipe.
I promise, it's really good.
PLUS, some people add a little bit of sour cream to make it thicker. I hear it's good, but I never actually tried it.
