Dear Jamie:

I'm sorry but I would like to challenge some of your Black male readers.

I a m a White female who is engaged to a Black male-good-looking, educated and loving. I just don't understand a lot of Black female's attitudes about our relationship.

My man decided he wanted me because the pickings amongst Black women were slim to none. As he said they were either too fat, too loud, too mean, too argumentative, too needy, too materialistic or carrying too much excess baggage.

Before I became engaged, whenever I went out I was constantly approached by Black men, willing to wine and dine me and give me the world. If Black women are so up in arms about us being with their men, why don't they look at themselves and make some changes.

I am tired of the dirty looks I get and snide remarks when we're out in public. I would like to hear from some Black men about why we are so appealing and coveted by them.

Bryant Gumbel just left his wife of 26 years for one of us. Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, the model Tyson Beckford, Montell Williams, Quincy Jones, James Earl Jones, Harry Belafonte, Sydney Poitier, Kofi Anan, Cuba Gooding Jr., Don Cornelius, Berry Gordy, Billy Blanks, Larry Fishburne, Wesley Snipes...

I could go on and on. But, right now, I'm a little angry and that is why I wrote this so hurriedly. Don't be mad with us White women because so many of your men want us. Get your acts together and learn from us and we may lead you to treat your men better. If I'm wrong, Black men, let me know.

I would like to respond to the letter written by Disgusted White Girl.

Let me start by saying that I am a 28-year old black man. I graduated from one of the most prestigious universities in Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management. I have a good job at a major corporation and have recently purchased a house. So, I consider myself to be among the ranks of successful black men.

I will not use my precious time to slander white people. I just want to set the record straight of why black men date white women. Back in the day, one of the biggest reasons why black men dated white women was because they were considered easy.

The black girls in my neighborhood were raised in the church. They were very strict about when they lost their virginity and who they lost it to. Because of our impatience to wait, brothers would look for someone who would give it up easy without too much hassle. So, they turned to the white girls.

Nowadays, in my opinion, a lot of brothers date white women because they are docile and easy to control. A lot of black men, because of insecurities, fears, and overall weaknesses, have become intimidated by the strength of our black women. We are afraid that our woman will be more successful than us, make more money than us, drive nicer cars and own bigger

houses. Because of this fear, many black men look for a more docile woman. Someone we can control.

I have talked to numerous black men and they continuously comment on how easy it is to control and walk over their white women. I just want to set the record straight. I want Disgusted White Girl to know that not all successful black men date white women.

Brothers like Ahmad Rashad, Denzel Washington, Michael Jordan, Morris Chestnut, Will Smith, Blair Underwood, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Chris Rock all married strong black women and, to flip the script, there are numerous white men, in and out of the spot light, who openly or secretly desire black women over white women. Ted Danson, Robert DeNiro, and David Bowie to name a few.

I just don't want disgusted white girl to be misinformed. Stop thinking that because you are white, that you are some type of goddess. Remember, when black Egyptian Queens like Hatsepshut and Nitorcris were ruling Dynasties and armies of men in Egypt, you were over in the caves of Europe eating raw meat and beating each other over the head with clubs. It was the black woman that taught you how to cook and season your food. It was the black woman that taught you how to raise your children. It was the black women who were breast feeding and raising your babies during slavery. It is the black woman that had to endure watching their fathers, husbands, and children beaten, killed, and thrown in jail. Black women were born with two strikes against them: being black and being a woman. And, through all this, Still They Rise!

As a White Man of Viking descent I realize I am not supposed to comment on a topic like this, but I really don't care. My wife is Chinese, and I find women of all races and colors to be beautiful. I think the reason why white women and black men date is for the same reasons why I have dated black women and Asian women. They look good. I have dated black women and been very satisfied with the experiences due to the unbelievable hotness of black women. All women are beautiful, and if I was a straight white women, I believe I would find men of all races and colors to be beautiful. Thank God I am a man because I like to be the man, and I have found women of all races like to submit to my masculine nature. It is the natural order of the human species for women to be submissive and men dominant. In my experiences I have found black women to be much more submissive than white women, and white women more submissive than Asian women. Maybe that's why I like black women so much, they make me feel manly. As far as white people being less evolved than blacks, that is just an ignorant racist remark most likely made by a very miserable person. It is true there have been many wonderful civilizations in Africa throughout history, but the same should also be said of Europe, Asia, and the Americas. For anyone to believe one race superior to another is small-minded indeed. Please keep your mind open to people from other cultures and races. The human species has had enough senseless violence and bloodshed because of close-mindedness. If two people love each other than that is that. It may be natural to want all the people of one's race to not date interracially, but that is just not a realistic viewpoint. People are going to date whoever they want, and anyone else's opinion is of no consequence. This issue has nothing to do with uncontrolled immigration by the way. That is just plain stupidity.

Not all black men perfer white women over black women.. some black men only perfer white women over black women.. not anyother race black men would perfer a spanish or light skin women over a white women any day... the reason for black men perfering white women or black is because black women are not about to put up wit half the **** white women allow.. white women are easy as **** to please and let you do anything you want.. now a days you see most black men wit mixed women. The "weak white woman" bs is a distant myth. My man is black and I am white. He admires me for my strength. I'll bet the answers submitted by the supposed black men stating that white women are targeted by black men because they are docile were actually submitted by either black women or perhaps a black male who grew up in an all black neighborhood and the only white women he's interacted with were a crack head or dope fiend. Give me a break with your brainless stereotypes.

This is difficult to answer because I am a female, therefore my opinion and response is honestly unnecessary (but i'm going to put my 2 cents in anyway :)). I believe black men have "given up" due to the constant European aesthetic influence on the psyche. The influence is paramount in terms of what's "good" and what's "bad". Not to point fingers of course, but black woman are painted with a very big brush stroke in terms of not being suitable life partners, or parents. Unfortunately, some, I say SOME black women have allowed this stereotype to dictate their lives. I believer there are other reasons, deeper reasons, but once again this isn't really a woman's opinion, its a man's. So please gentleman, if you'd be ever so kindly and grant us with some intelligent insight.

Generally it does not matter in regards to color. Yet, this does not seem to be the case in today's society. Black men(especially the successful one's) often choose white women over black women for several reasons. However, most black men seem to claim that their decision to choose white women is because black women are too ghetto or even too aggressive. This is a ridiculous and ignorant statement. Contrary to this accusation, I am an 18 year old young attractive black woman who carries and dresses with class. I am in no way a "black girl who acts as a white girl" either( also a ignorant accusation). Black men who choose to claim that they favor white women over black women because they are too ghetto or aggressive are simply suffering from self hared and are simply small minded and quiet ignorant.

Black women are, by and large, a lot less attractive than white women. Why wouldn't black men what white women?
