My internet wont work on my PC but it will on my laptop. They are both wireless.?

Okay i have recently upgraded my internet. BT Home hub to BT Home hub2. I own a laptop and a 'Personal Computer' ( Tower, Monitor etc..) with a wireless network adapter connected from the USB port. The internet has always worked on both machines until the upgraded Modem/Router came. Once the laptop was set up, I went to set up the 'PC'. Oh yer, nothing. It finds the connection but it has a star in the corner with automatic next to it. The network is obviously in range because the router is in the same place the old one was and so to is the wireless network adapter. Could somebody please help me soon as the computer is used for coursework for college. Thanks a lot for reading this. Jordi Robinson

Ok thanks for the knowledge.. I havent got an ethernet cable that far mate so i cant do that, no i dont get an error message. Its the windows one and theres a like a status bar but continously goes across. That doesnt load up.. its just one big problem. Please write back with any more suggestions youj have pal. Thanks

the word your looking for is desktop. A normal sized computer is called a desktop. PC refers to a windows machine, and can be either a laptop or a desktop.
As far as your actually problem goes i'm don't know what to tell you. Try connecting with a wire if you can. Do you get an error message when you try to connect?
