Biathlon question: can you use White Lightning chain grease for your .22?

This is a very very wrong thing to do.
You should only ever lube your firearms with thin lubricants.
White lightning products are ones that can have wax like particles in them. These wax or wax like attributes can clog up your firearm and perhaps make it dangerous if you are in cold conditions.

Hmm....I don't think I'd use it, but it may work in a pinch. The White Lightning Epic (or Race Day, I can't remember which they're calling it now) would be a better choice than the traditional white waxy lube. If you use the traditional White Lightning sparingly (as it should) you might be ok. The Epic is a watery synthetic lube. I don't think it's great as a chain lube but it will work....it's definitely good for many other applications, though.
There are definitely some better lubes on the market that would do well for both applications. Check out the Pro Link Pro Gold lube. It's a thin liquid that sets up dry, but not waxy like White Lightning and without any buildup. It also does great in sub-freezing temperatures. There are other good chain lubes, but that would be my recommendation for one that will keep your bike happy and also work well with the moving parts of your .22
