Strange Behavior By My Cat....?? ?

Lately my cat has been chasing his tail...and catching it. He attacks it to the point that he has large open sores, is missing hair and gets blood all over my house. I am not sure what to do?

You should take him to the vet as soon as possible ... my cat had a patch on her side where the fur fell out and she kept biting at and it turned out to be ringworm. A few days with applying an ointment and she was much better. It sounds like your cat may have ringworm (which is contageous!) or some other kind of skin infection that needs treatment.

take it to a vet there might be something wrong with it. I have heard of cats chasing tails but if it has large open sores and blood something is probably wrong. It's probably attacking it's tail because of irritation.

Usually cats eventually will find out that they like to chase their tail.....but in the condition of your cat doing this maybe something is wrong with its tail, or it is messing (biting or scratching) it too much. I would take it to the vet to see if anything is wrong.

take him to your vet right away they should be able to give you some kind of sav to put on his tail to avoid him bitting it. also when cats chase their tail it means they are bored.... you should buy some toys and make sure you make ample time to play with him every day, he sounds needy like my cat!

He is anxious. Get him to the vet for some blood tests.

he's bored, needs more to keep him busy. give him something besides his tell to play with. and check with your vet.
