Rather prepare him and that he prepare himself now, for the truth is that God will summon every single one of us to appear before Him and give account, whether now or in a little while. None can deny the truth that death is certain.

God is showing him mercy that he might have a short space of time to prepare. He has not taken him suddenly and without warning.

He has opportunity to seek God's mercy in Jesus Christ that He may escape God's wrath for sin. Unless he has that he is treading on the eggshell to Hell and eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord. Then he would wish he had never been born, let alone live in this world of sin.

And what does he now have in this world that could possibly compare with this?

This should be his main and vital preoccupation. If he saw things as they truly are he would be terrified lest he should miss or fail of God's mercy. If he gain salvation in Christ he will not want to remain on in this world, except maybe that he may plead with his loved ones and declare the grace and mercy of God in Christ Jesus and God's glory.

Let him not slight this final and unmerited mercy from God for it will go the worse for him if he does. So many do not get this final opportunity.

Let him not give final provocation to the Lord's wrath for sin.

May he take heed for his time is short and his opportunity even shorter.

I was a qualified nurse with some limited experience in this. My understanding is that one of the major problems with cancer is that it metastisises, that is, spreads to other locations of the body. It seems any part of the body that has a really good lymph supply, alog of lymph tissue and glands around it, will allow the cancer to spread through the lymph system more easily. The lymph system is a sort of ciruclatory system like the blood stream, but instead carries products directly to and from the tissue. It's the mid way transport system between the blood stream and tissue.

On the bad side, the lungs are near areas that have a lot of lymph glands, such as under the arms and in the chest.

On the good side. The older you get the slower cell division is, and this is one of the primary ways cancer spreads, so in an older person cancer spreads alot slower.

If a cancerous tumor is small they will surgically remove it and then give radiation therapy to kill off any cells they missed, to prevent the disease spreading.

Stage III Lung Cancer

Stage IV Lung Cancer

It depends on a lot of things. It's good that the cancer is small, really small even but if he has other health issues or for what ever reason he doesn't take the treatments well then it's different. I don't think that there's any certainty that you're going to be burying your brother very soon though. Best of luck.

a few years ago(2003) i was diagnosed with lung cancer. a SQUAMOUS CELL fast growing type of cancer. Trusting in THE LORD i underwent surgery within 2 weeks and so far there is no sign of recurrence. i was 72 at the time ,so, i think your brother should have surgery at once and whatever follow up that follows(i had no chemo or radiation, just lost the upper 1/3 of my right lung). i thank THE LORD and DR RAYBURN every day. remember 'HE WHO HESITATES IS LOST'.

There's always a chance..no matter what any one says.

See if he can enrol in a cancer treatment centre..

Get 2nd and 3rd opinions

He needs to change his diet..and most important of all he needs to keep a positive attitude.

I saw a commerical the other day that showed a woman who was told she had cancer and had two months to live.

She had gone home to die..but her sister enrolled her in a cancer treatment centre..and now 5 years later she's cancer free.

There is always hope.

It's amazing just how much progress has been made regarding cancer. The answer you need can only be really confirmed by a professional consultant but chemotherapy has worked well for many people in the last couple of years. Good luck and hope he can beat it.

They can do some great thing now Blue and a good out look sure helps when the chips are down so tell Bro to hang in there and never give up. I will pray that all comes out well. Hugs

There's no way to tell, unfortunately - they're making great strides against cancer nowadays, but some cancers are still tough to beat.

Lung cancer is one of them.

I have heard of a woman in Waterloo, Ontario that was told that her lung cancer was terminal, but who travelled to a clinic in India and has been completely cured. I don't have the article, but it was reported in the Kitchener-Waterloo Record ( www.therecord.com) within the last 2 months.

If you contact them, they can likely send you a copy of the article and you can decide whether it's worth it to contact the lady.

Sorry to hear about your brother,If they've caught it in time the chances of him surviving it are quite good,i know he's quite old but with new medical advances coming out all the time he stands a good chance,hope things go okay for him,Matt.
