  • Has anybody in the UK ever used a dog behaviourist called Bark Busters?

I contacted a dog behaviourist recently called 'Bark Busters' who apparently operate in many parts of England and wondered if anybody had used them at all to train their dog and what the outcome actually was. I contacted my vet today for advice but they don't have them listed or dealt with them so I was wondering if they are actually a legitimate company. Their website shown in the link below has links to reviews but is there any way I can check them out at all to see if they are officially listed as proper dog behaviourists?

  • Volvo V50 dashboard display....'Engine System Service Required'?

I have a Volvo V50 2.4 diesel 6 speed manual which is the D5 engine that I believe Volvo install in their 4x4's as well. However, I have recently had a full service on the vehicle by a local garage (not a main dealer) to which the oil was changed plus all filters were replaced etc. but about two weeks after the service, a message came up on the dashboard with 'Engine System Service Required'. I took the car back last week and a diagnostic check was done by the mechanic saying it was the oil level sensor that has malfunctioned. Apparently they have contacted Volvo who claim that it's a common fault and that a new sensor is £174 plus labour costs which totals around £225. I have tried doing some research myself on the net but finding various problems that seemed to be linked to this message. When I enter the details in the web search box it seems to relate directly to the Volvo D5 engine so do any Volvo owners in particular had any experience of this as I don't want to buy a part, have it fitted then only to find out that the oil level sensor wasn't at fault after all.

The dipstick has been checked for the oil level and is about mid-way between the low and full marks so it doesn't appear that the sump has been over filled. According to the Volvo handbook the spec for the D5 engine oil grade is 0-30 & 6 litres in quantity which the mechanic confirms the service conforms to the this specification.

Any offers of advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Is David Cameron right on the HS2 rail link in the UK?

David Cameron in his latest speech says that Britain needs a high speed rail link the same as other countries but some countries are much bigger than Britain in comparison due to the expanse of land so it is understandable that some countries need this type of high speed transport to cut down on journey times. As as Britain is a smaller country which is less than a thousand miles from Land's End to John O' Groats, do we really need to invest in this type of infrastructure and what do you think are the benefits in the long term?

  • Confusing geographical question about Ugandan Asians?

Asia and Africa are both continents whereby Uganda is in the continent of Africa so how can they actually call the residents of Uganda asians? They must really be classed as Ugandan Africans as Uganda certainly isn't in Asia. What are your thoughts on this?

  • Can you use a UK bus pass on Blackpool trams?

An elderly couple I know are interested in visiting Blackpool illuminations this year who both have UK bus passes and wanted to know if they could use them on the Blackpool tram system or not. I have looked at the Blackpool transport official website that states the current fares and day saver tickets but doesn't include any details about using a bus pass. Does anyone know if bus passes can actually be used or will they have to pay the ticket fare?

  • Advice on an oil filter removal tool for a Volvo V50?

I have recently bought a Volvo V50 2.4 diesel (D5) with the 5 cylinder engine and want to change the engine oil in the next few weeks. However, the oil filter itself is a round cylindrical paper type filter with with replacable cap and 'O' ring and requires a special fluted cup type tool to remove it. I think there are different size cup type removal tools and wondered if anyone can provide a specific part number or any links would be appreciated.

  • Peter Andre with Piers Morgan interview on TV regarding divorced Dads?

When Piers Morgan interviewed Peter Andre, Peter described how he felt emotionally when he said that his kids were living with another man being Katie Price's partner, that he felt so distraught and that it absolutely killed him, but don't you think that he was answering on behalf of every single divorced Dad that has children as I believe that every father feels exactly the same after a marriage break up?

  • Does David Cameron really think he really has the answer to EU problems?

With Germany being the most prosperous country in the EU regarding economic growth, how the hell can David Cameron dictate to Angela Merkel what the correct procedure is for the future?

Surely the German government must be doing something right so realistically, shouldn't the British prime minister be taking advice from Angela Merkel?

  • 'My Favourite Things' theme from 'The Sound of Music'. Comical lyrics.....funny or not?

Comical lyrics especially for the elderly but you have to sing it to appreciate it.

I found it quite funny but what do you think?

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,

Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,

Bundles of magazines tied up in string,

These are a few of my favourite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,

Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,

Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,

These are a few of my favourite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,

    When the knees go bad,

I simply remember my favourite things,

And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,

No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,

Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,

These are a few of my favourite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',

Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',

And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,

When we remember our favourite things.

When the joints ache, When the hips break,

    When the eyes grow dim,

Then I remember the great life I've had,

And then I don't feel so bad.

  • Are 'Crop Circles' still an unsolved mystery or not?

I was informed recently that the crop circle mystery was just a hoax performed by humans and that extra terrestrial involvement had been completely ruled out. Can anyone confirm this?
