Well it WAS the Bay Of Plenty in New Zealand and it's amazing beaches, covering the area of 37ºS latitude.
This area of the world is pretty unique, the sandy beaches are a hue that is unknown elsewhere..
There are spots that you can dig a hole in the sand and thermal water that pools in is warm enough to notice, obviously and aptly named 'Hot water Beach'.
But some irresponsible container ship crewmen decided to navigate it onto a reef, run aground and stick firm, dislodging some 70 containers [its cargo] into the sea and begin breaking up, releasing many tonnes of toxic, carcinogenic bunker oil.
It's ruined the Summer for us, which is rapidly approaching.
Poor New Zealand.
It's been getting a hard time lately.
Christchurch still hasn't settled down.
Now the North Island must suffer.
It's also an election year, and today was the 13th.
