Question for those who watched the debate?

This is not meant to be a bash...I am simply calling attention to something I noticed. I want other opinions or clarifications if any.

Obama talked about stopping genocide and horrible actions in other countries. He said we would most likely step in and stop it if we could. But before that he said that Iraq was a mistake. Well those kinds of things were going on in Iraq. Their dictator was torturing and putting to death a lot of people in that country. The people were given little while the leaders took all of the wealth and left the people to fend for themselves. Any thoughts? Please try and be civilized and polite.

Update:

Any sources, first answerer? Or where did you hear that?

Update 2:

When this war started years ago, I don't remember hearing anything about oil. You think it's just a big conspiracy?

Yes there was genocide in Iraq.

President and congress were all informed by top intelligence that there were WMD in Iraq that is why so many of the congress voted for us to go in. Obama is double talking.

Iraq was not a poor country as some people think. Iraq had a hugher standard of literacy than the, excellent universities and people made a good living. The sanctions after the first gulf war made things more difficult. Then the US invasion destroyed the country and killed a few hundred thousand civilians. Iraq was not that bad for most people, but US propaganda painted it that way.

Genocide in places like Darfur is a different story. That is active genocide, which requires intervention. The same thing has happened in a number of african countries.

Congress, not the president decided to go into Iran because sources said there were weapons of mass destruction there.

It was clear that although Senator Obama was speaking directly to the middle class, that Senator McCain had a better grasp and solutions for foreign policy.

We didn't go into iraq for genocide issue. Our president lied to our country to get us into Iraq. The war in Iraq is over oil, nothing else.
