If God and Jesus don't exist, why do some athiests hate them?

How can you say God created evil, if he doesn't exist?

How can you say Jesus was a liar if he didn't exist?

How can a person who doesn't believe in God or Jesus curse either...isn't that hypocrisy?

I think some atheists are pretty angry at Someone considering that they don't even believe He existed.

Could you explain it to me...how can you be angry at Someone who isn't real?

Update:

I read in the text that one individual made about me making a blanket statement...that all atheists...etc...

So...I'm gonna ask you again...What is it about a God that doesn't exist that makes some (underline some...and capitals!!!) atheists read words that are not there?

We don't hate God or Jesus. We do not believe in the existence of God or Jesus.

When the atheist concludes "God created evil" what is occurring is, for the sake of argument, the atheist is conceding the existence of God, as believed in by the Christian, to show the inconsistencies in the Christians position.

The atheist argument here is, assuming God exists, God cannot be omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent and omnipresent all at the same time (as the Christians claim) and not be responsible for evil.

    look up reductio ad absurdum

Atheists do not say Jesus did not exist. They don't debate the existence of real people. And they don't hate god, they just don't believe he exists, there is a huge difference. You may not believe ghosts/aliens/fairies exist, does that mean that you hate them?

If they say the world is evil, it was evil created within that world and not by god.

I do think some Christians and some Atheists are pretty angry people, yes. They usually give the thumbs down to people who disagree or give a point of view of their own legitmate experiences in life. Instead of just thumbs-downing people who are just mean and cruel.

Maybe some of the people you talk to are just trying to piss you off because they know they can. If you were really secure in your beliefs, you would not let them get to you so badly.

I think its because they are addressing a god concept that some people have and their dislike for it rather than a literal being they think is real. I use the example of someone saying the Joker was a real bad dude in Batman. They don't actually think the Joker is real. They are commenting on it as a character as portrayed in fiction. It could sound though to someone who doesn't know better that they think they Joker is real and a bad person in reality. To be technically correct everyone should say the character of the Joker as portrayed seems really twisted but its cumbersome and most people assume the other party can make the inference.

There is a difference between hating a religion, and its Gods, and hating its followers, and their actions.

If suddenly tommorow a whole bunch of people decided to started infringing upon the rights of people in the name of the imaginary Flying Spagetti Monster, then I think a lot of people would hate them to.

Hating the stupid things people do in the names of beings whos existence cannot be proved does not make their existence real.

I believe in God and even I am not that hard up for an arguement for the existence of the divine.

I don't hate anybody, I don't curse non-existent gods and I have never called Jesus a liar. I suspect he is a real historical figure, although I doubt if the writings about him contain a high degree of accuracy.

I'm not angry at anyone, just dismayed at the ignorant bumpkins that take every word of a bronze age book literally.

I say those things to make you think about what your bible really says.

I know that God and Jesus don't exist, but also know that just telling you that, will not make you think about things at all.

If I tell you that God meant for sin to enter the earth, when he allowed Eve to be tempted without a knowledge of Good verses evil, I know you will be forced to read your bible to see if I am right.

That will cause you to ask why God would do such a thing, and cause you to decide whether you want to believe in a cruel, immoral deity, or simply acknowledge that the complete lack of evidence for his existence is good enough to adopt a more positive outlook on life.

I do it, because I used to be just like you.

Source(s): Be honest, have you ever been moved to action by a "God doesn't Exist" answer? That is why I ask you dificult questions about the morality of the God you worship. Its not that I believe and am angry, its that I know you believe, so I work within your framework of faith.

Your question demonstrates a great lack of understand. What you are really implying is the childish belief that deep down atheists believe in god but refuse to worship him. Wrong on all plans. I strongly encourage you to spend some time with people who don't think exactly like you. Great way to learn about the world.

I personally strongly dislike ignorance or when people make ignorant claims such as "you can't burn a ouija board", "a ghost lives in my kitchen" or "god answers my prayers". These old myth have got to go and we need to learn as a society how to develop a critical mind that can perform a minimal level of intellectual self-defense.

It's not that they know whether God exists or not. They just believe that if He did exist, He would be a hard-fisted, unruly tyrant who they think makes their lives miserable. That's why they're angry at Him. They're the type of people who DON'T WANT to believe in God.

As you say, this is only true for some atheists, not all. Some atheists are not hateful of God or Jesus, either because they truly believe He doesn't exist or because they don't look at God or Jesus as being worthy of hate, even if they did exist.

for somebody to hate something that is going to exist. So if a individual hates God, he's no longer an atheist. He in simple terms hates God. i like the belief of God, besides the incontrovertible fact that logic tells that he would not exist (many reasons for thinking this).

What is it about Xians that make then see words that are not there?

We say that gods do not exist. Period. Nonexistent beings are neither evil nor good nor do we have any opinion as to their nonexistent attributes.

We do, however, have strong opinions about the danger their very real and deluded followers have on our society and the world at large. They and their agenda to instill their delusions into the legal fabric and our daily lives must be opposed at all times.
