I'm trying to make some CDs for my wife and I need suggestions on what the latest music is for girls. We're not old, I just don't listen to pop. please help.

Update:

no no, what I mean is music for her to listen to on her commutes. No from me. Pop music she would like.

Eep, stay away from that lame, made-for-money pop stuff like Rihanna and the Jonas Brothers, etc. I highly suggest Morcheeba - they've got a pretty wide variety of styles with a female vocalist (well, they've had 2).

I definitely recommend "The Sea", "Rome Wasn't Built In A Day", "Everybody Loves A Loser", "Blindfold", and "Be Yourself" to start off with.

Add some Jack Johnson; He is very mellow, low-key with lots of acoustics. His music is perfect for morning and afternoon commutes since I always find myself listening to the album "In Between Dreams".

    She will love it!

Here's a couple of 2008 songs that are (or were) in the charts - mainly pop. Most girls I know like these songs...

"I Kissed A Girl" Katy Perry

    "Hot N Cold" Katy Perry

"Shut Up & Let Me Go" The Ting Tings

    "Take A Bow" Rihanna

    "Disturbia" Rihanna

    "So What" Pink

"When I Grow Up" Pussycat Dolls

    "Girls" Sugababes

    "The Promise" Girls Aloud

    "Can't Speak French" Girls Aloud

    "Spotlight" Jennifer Hudson

    "Sweet About Me" Gabriella Cilmi

"No Air" Jordin Sparks ft. Chris Brown

    "Mercy" Duffy

    "Warwick Avenue" Duffy

    "Love Song" Sara Bareilles

    Hope I could help! x

Fall For You by Secondhand Serenade: Tells her you're just human but you would take a fall for her.

Leave Out All The Rest by Linkin Park: My personal favourite tells her to always remember the good memories you've had over the years no matter what happens.

    Hope I've helped!

    For girls? Hmm....

Since you're not "oldies," I suggest Britney Spears' songs from her album Blackout. I personally am not a Britney fan but I actually find her songs quite catchy. I assume you also do not listen to hip-hop and RnB. You should definitely include Chris Brown's (Forever,With You, Gimme That, etc.) and Ne-yo's (Miss

Independent, Closer, Go on Girl, She Got Her Own, etc.) songs. Ne-yo is sooooo good! :)

Oh yeah, don't forget Mariah Carey (from album E=mC2). I really like her songs. Just her songs.

    Other good-to-listen-to songs:

One Step at a Time by Jordin Sparks

Ever After by Bonnie Bailey (not one of the latest but a very good song)

Selfish by Sunset Daze (similar song to Bailey's Ever After)

    Crush by David Archuleta

    Disturbia by Rihanna

When I Grow Up by The Pussycat Dolls

    Finally by Fergie

You'll Ask For Me by Tyler Hilton (not really a new song but it's a good one)

Maybe you should ask her what she likes...?

Its a bit crazy to generalise and ask millions of girls what music that girls like as we probably all like different music!!!!!!!!!!!
