For anyone with a budgie?
This question has two parts. Firstly is your budgie cage placed near a window that looks out onto a road. If so, do they start chirping when a car goes by? Mine does, it's really strange.
Secondly, anyone who has a Nintendo Wii with Mario kart as well as a budgie, do you find that when you play on wifi mode and it comes to the part where it has selected the players and is showing the current race in progress before you start your race. Our budgie seems to chirp when the music plays that goes with it.
Any feedback on your experiences would be very interesting to hear. Even if there are other strange things that set your budgie off.

1. No, they don't overlook the road, but they can hear and feel the train, car alarms, sirens, etc. And it doesn't seem to affect them.
2. We don't have a Wii, but we have cable and radio, etc. And some types of music they will make more noises to.
I notice that 4 of the keets will go wild with chirps when I turn on the bathroom sink. I'm not quite sure why. Our cockatiel is starting to make whistles and whistle noises that imitate my inflections in speech but is unable to make actual words with her voice. What really sometimes sets the keets off is if my daughter or I get just one bird and all it takes is for one of them to make loud chirping which sets all the others into this really loud screaming type chirping.
Sometimes the keets on youtube can make other keets make noises too. Mine don't seem to be affected too much by this.

ALL parrotlike birds will 'compete' with noises they hear. They will try and go louder than the noise.
They think they are the boss, so if you turn the noise up they will increase their volume too!!
Extremely funny most of the time, but guarenteed if you want to watch something on the television, the parrot will decide they dont want you to
My CAG has to have the last word. Often. Thats hilarious.
At bedtime, he finds 101 things he desperately needs to do rather than go night-nights...and will OFTEN get quite loud under the covers aftter lights out.
Friend of mine has one that will say louder and louder "Night night Gregory" ... "Night Night Gregory"...."Gregory"... "NIGHT NIGHT GREGORY!!!" Absolutely hilarious.Theyre worse than unruly kids
PS NOT GOOD to have a bird all the time in the sun. And as for the talking and chatting etc., thru the window...just like you chatting to your friends...thats what they're doing...And theyre letting you know that someone is about.. Lil guard dogs in disguise, they are see!!! Youve heard about the burglar ...broke in this house... rummaging through belongings ... hears a voice saying "Jesus is watching you!"... Hears it again ..."Jesus is watching you!" Intrigued, burglar turns on the light...Parrot sitting in the cage in the corner ... Burglar walks over to parrot and says, "Was that you who said that?" Parrot replies, "Indeed it was!" Burglar completely taken aback by this, then asks, "Whats your name then?" Parrot replied "My name is Clarence!" The burglar found this increasingly amusing the more he thought about it... and asked the parrot "What kind of an idiot named you Clarence?" to which the Parrot calmly replied, "The SAME idiot that named the Rotweiler Jesus!!"
Have a good evening ... PW xx ((*_*))
