New Homeowner: Help needed for a Small speech for Habitat for Humanity?
My three children and I will be the proud owner of our (Habitat for Humanity) home next week and I need to make a short speech and am so lost for words. Can someone please send me some samples. I am a single parent, working full time and put alot of effort and dedication in helping to acheive this goal.

Don't make a speech: just tell your story! If your kids can say a few words (or you can quote them), do it. What you wrote in your question is a good start: even the part about "am so lost for words". If your kids can say a few words (or you can quote them), do it. It will express more than any speech.

Nothing anybody can say here that would reflect your true emotions ….it comes from the heart and I know you have plenty of feelings about this.
I have given many speeches and countless teachings, and the most important thing is to be you, and eco the feelings in your own words about how you feel.
Here is what I want you to do…..
Think of me as your best friend that just came into town …we are sitting in lawn chairs admiring your newly finished home and I ask you……….
Manny…… tell me what it was it like when you found out you were getting a new home?
And what was it like working with these people?
How do you feel about the home?
How do the kids feel?
How does this help you as a family?
What are your feelings about Habitat?
And how has this changed your life?………………… Sorry I ask a lot of questions.
Answer those questions and put them in a format and you have your speech
Do not write a speech out, you will fumble all over yourself. Give a speech as if you were talking to me …………….your best friend in the whole wide world. You can rehearse it over in your head …or even give it to the kids ahead of time
Write down key words or phrases to stimulate the direction of your speech, but give it from the heart…..you can’t go wrong
