3rd grade math confusing me!?

because of 4 times 3 equals 12 and there was 12 cans. :]

She could make a 4 by 3 array or a 6 by 2 array.

It's simple.

You can do 6 x 2 meaning 6 rows of two cans, 2 x 6 meaning 2 rows of 6 cans, 1 x 12 meaning one row of 12 cans, 12 x 1 meaning twelve rows of 1 can, 4 x 3 meaning four rows of 3 cans and 3 x 4 meaning 3 rows of 4 cans.

You could put 6 cans on the bottom, 3 on top of that and 2 on the three and 1 on top of the two. Or just put 6 on bottom and 4 on that and 2 on that. I know how you feel... I feel the same way some days!

the two start up on floor a million. it relatively is whats messing you up. Ali is going to floor 3 and Bali to floor 2. Then Ali is going to 5 and Bali to 3, then Ali to 7 and Bali to 4, Ali to 9 and Bali to 5. So the respond is floor 9 and 5.

Come on? Arrays? You HAVE to be smarter than this. You use factor pairs in arrays. A 1X12, 2X6, 3X4 all work. :-)

you can do 6 rows going down with 2 cans in each row.OR you can do 2 rows going down with 6 in each.Hope this helps.
