Hum Traveler, They better bring all they have. Christians and Atheists don't see eye to eye on religion. However, if we are attacked, we will bond together like glue to fight for our freedom. To answer your question, both groups of people have strong and weak members. I suppose the group with least amount of members surviving the war will disappear first.

Assume it is a radically fanatical Islamic group that takes over. Most Islamic states, contrary to modern beliefs are secular.

According to history and Islam itself Christians and Jews are children of the Book and are to be treated with dignity. A forced conversion is no conversion. They will be ok so long as they tow the line and keep in their place and respect Islam.

Pagans and atheists are another matter however. They will conform or eventually disappear, longing for the days when Christianity had been the dominant force.

Christians. Atheists are smart enough to fake it to stay alive. Belief is in your heart and mind. Just because an atheist might pay lip service to a religion to stay alive doesn't mean they would stop being atheists. Most would just become underground militants planning the overthrow of the new regime. At least I know I would.

The Christians if they have their way but they don't because God is in control. They will persecute us only if God allows it for us to show our love for Him.

If we all pray and ask God not to let Obama be elected president he will here our prayer and answer it. Then we won't have to worry about

In the Book of Revelation from The Holy Bible. Everyone will be destroyed and the Earth included.

Those who follow God will be restored to new everlasting life with new Heaven and new Earth.

And everyone not of God will restored to eternal damnation with the devil.

These events will happen in their due time and there isn't anything you or I can do to change the events of The Holy Bible. But there is something you can do to avoid eternal damnation. Accept Jesus in your heart and allow Him to be your savior. That is the only way. He has his hand out for you. He loves you. He is waiting for you....

Christians will die out first because many of them are told that they should happily die for their faith. We atheists have had to hide for many years so we know to go undercover.

But shouldn't we all just work together to promote rational thinking and tolerance so that this never happens in the first place?

My proofs are derived from history and legislation of ISlam about treating others of different religion

1- History and legislation:

Zakah money are distributed among poor in the Islamic country regardless of their religion,

Allah says:

" As-Sadaqât (here it means Zakât) are only for the Fuqarâ' (poor), and Al-Masâkin (the poor) and those employed to collect (the funds), and to attract the hearts of those who have been inclined (towards Islâm); and to free the captives, and for those in debt, and for Allâh's Cause (i.e. for Mujâhidûn - those fighting in a holy battle), and for the wayfarer (a traveler who is cut off from everything); a duty imposed by Allâh. And Allâh is All-Knower, All-Wise."

Quran 9:60

Money of Zakah did not find a needy to take in the entire muslim nation in the ages of Omar ibn Abd-AlAziz and Othman ibn Affan, Zakah were sent to other countries to help thise in need.

2- Jihad (Muslims' fighting against those who prevent them from defining Islam to others or calling to it, or against who expelled muslims from their home lands or those who appropriated their home lands), this Jihad have rules summarized in the saying of Abu Baker(the second man after prophet Mohammad PBUH) to the Muslim army heading to a fight(battle).

Do not betray(kill in the back), Do not kill a single newborn, Do not kill a single elderly man, Do not kill a woman, do not slay a camel, do not cut a single tree, do not destroy a house, do not burn a single plant, you shall find men devoted to worship in chuches, do not get even near to them. Do not attack/strike at morning, hence, panic not women nor children"

3- after muslims ruled Damascus, Romans attacked Damascus again, as Muslims were incapable to defend damascus, Khaled gave back the money of Jizya (taken from Christians and Jews living in an Islamic nation to support the army since these people are not required to fight with the army), khaled gave the Jizya back to christians saying: " We took ur money to defend u, but now we can't, so take ur money back."

4- When Salah Udien freed Jerusalem from crussaders, he allowed those who wanted to leave Jerusalem to leave and guarded them to the borders of Palestine, but everyone has to pay a smalla mount of money(man paied 10 liers, woman paied 5L, children above 5 payed 2L), Salah Udein and hos companions payed for some christian poor, while the catholico of Jerusalem left carrying the church money without paying for any one except for him and his family.

So, if Islam conquers no single innocent will die, they will not be forced to be muslims, as Allah says:

" There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Tâghût and believes in Allâh, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allâh is All-Hearer, All-Knower."

Islam never treats other based on how they treat muslims, never ever.

there r constant legislation about dealing non-Muslims, this nevr change by time nor place.

i.e. Crussaders killed Muslims in Jerusalem when they caotured it, and also tortured them the same way happening in Gwanatanamo's and American prisons in Iraq.

However, when Slah Udien entered Jeruslaem and freed it from those crussaders, he did not act like they did. he released them for some money, he payed for the poor, and allowed christians who stayed to practice theor religion freely.

This is Islam, but what about christianity?

Well, if that happens, they will have started to act like the Christians did during the Inquisitions, witch-hunts, heretic burnings, etc.

However, to answer your question, I believe the Atheists would be executed. Since the Quran refers to Christians and Jews as "People of the Book," they are not likely to be executed. The Quran requires that "People of the Book" be treated with respect. Unfortunately, Muslim extremists don't always follow their own scripture.
