Put up a sign reading "Remove the log from your eye before you try to remove the speck from ours".
These people are so fond of confronting others that they are blind to hatred, intolerance , murder, and all the Shalt nots except the ones listed for punishment on their monthly calendar.
They sound like the relatives of my late partner. She died when I was overseas and her family claimed the remains and buried them in an unconsecrated plot under a stone reading UNKNOWN TO GOD.
Bigotry and hatred. I have seen them all but had to learn to forgive them before I could start to recover. Hatred, yes and I wanted to kill those relatives I was so ill then.
Enough Rose.

Because they are very mentally sick individuals who think they know the answer to everything and nobody else is right.
Why don't you do a protest with a group. Very quietly, very orderly, peaceful and without anger or frustration.
When Mother Teresa was asked to join a March for a particular war, she said no, "but I will join a march for peace". You can make a bold, positive statement by just being peaceful, and showing the bigots that you have a more accepting, loving nature.
I am not telling you what to do, but if I was young enough (I am 77) I would do just that. If it is the Church I am thinking about, they are mostly from one family, and they are very, very, very scary people, when it comes to their thoughts and actions.
You are a sensible, thoughtful person, just by asking this question. Keep being positive and loving towards everyone, and you will become a happy, loving adult.
I have many wonderful gay friends, and I find it very sad that there are people like that Church, teaching everybody how to hate.
Hate begets hate.
WHAT ANGRY said about taping the mouth and the word LOVE, is a wonderful suggestion.

They're not protesting the gay kids, unless you happen to have the only GSA in the state. In short, they're being belligerent because they have nothing constructive to do with their time. So your school knows; besides telling the kids what are they doing against this? Obviously it's attacking the school as a whole and they should be fighting it. I definately agree with the counter-protest, or simply refusing to walk past them out of principle, even if you have to miss a couple classes.
Honestly, no honorable group would attack the young (and probably also the dead)!

The worst case was when they threatened to disrupt a funeral here for a soldier killed in action, not anything to do with him but simply with the idea that the US tolerates gays! They changed their minds, apparently, when they learned that a local motorcycle gang was prepared to meet them head on! (Sometimes that's the only thing that stupidity understands, like in the Kenny Rogers song, "Coward of the County.")

I know that they have to stay off of the property line!
they protest them because they hate them. because of what a book says. They dont care if the gay kid has all A's and is an amazing person, they still hate him/her

If I were you I would tell your principal you are very upset that your learning environment is being bombarded with hatred.
Is it the Westboro Baptist Church? They are obsessive when it comes to protesting about anything possibly homosexual.

that church is a horrible church.
if it was a realy church it would accept all people.
especially people who want to open themselves to God.
i think you should round up some ppl and have a protest about their protest at the same time..that would be entertaining :D

Hamilton High in Chandler, AZ?
I live in Gilbert and go to Mesquite High.
That's terrible, I'd just hold up a sign that says: "Religion is a curse on the world!!!!!!!!"

Do what we did. We did a counter protest.
It was silent. Not a word spoken. So while this guy was all standing on the podium in the quad holding up his bible and preaching hell fire and damnation, we all wore tape over our mouths with the word "LOVE" on it and held up peace signs. It was very effective.
A friend of mine captured it on film. Here's the link.
Source(s): I also have a bumper sticker on my car that says "Religion: It's what keeps the poor from murdering the rich." - Anonymous1 decade ago
They protest because they don't know any better. They're like children during the "I need" stages - "Mommy, I NEED a cookie". Cries for attention spark from their end because they feel their rights are being violated by our existence (no, I don't get it, either).
