what is the breed of chickens used in Battery farms? I am thinking Leghorn.. but not sure. thanks?

    In India most if not all poultry farms rear White Leghorn birds ,these have proved economically the best for these ventures ,they are reared either in large pens where birds are free to wander within the limits of the enclosure or in batteries ,here their movements are limited to the confines of the cage .

    What the heck is a battery farm??? /Didn't know batteries grew on a farm. What kind of fertilizer do you use on batteries.??
