Does the rainbow in the back of peoples avater pictures mean anything?

I know that the rainbow has often been the symbol for gay society, but does it mean anything on avatar pictures?

Update:

I only like men and have never used the rainbow symbol, but I noticed when answering questins under lesbian and bi-sexual alot of the avater pictures have the rainbow as the background.

    It can mean many different things to different people. It could mean nature or peace. Or if it's March, then it may be a St. Patrick's Day theme going on there. Just my view.

    I have used the avatar picture with the rainbow but I didn't use it to represent anything. I'm a straight female and like men only. I just liked the way the picture looked with the rainbow. I don't think it means anything for a lot of people unless you want it to.
