Has anyone prepared themselves for these times ahead? What arrangements or preparations have you made? I have?
prepared myself in recent years for financial freedom. I kept feeling as if God was leading me this way as I paid off my bills, my home, bought a van and a truck, used, that are in good shape and serve my needs. I have 2 nice bikes to ride if gas gets out of hand. I set up a pantry in my home and have stored food stuffs so that if something happens, I can manage for a while. I filled it with things I bought at rock bottom prices, while others rolled their eyes at me for using coupons and sales circulars, I kept going. I have energy efficient appliances to help save on electricity and water. And I have a wood stove I am hooking up in the walkout basement to supplement my heating and have been gathering free wood to use in it as needed. I have a safe and have put cash in it and removed all but what I need to pay bills with. I am practicing good financial biblical practices, spending money for necessities and passing on foolish things like big screen LCD, HD tvs instead of food, heating, and practical things. My one extravagance is the craft room, which has all the art things, crafts, projects and so on to keep me and the foster kids busy for a very long time. Tell me what you have done to prepare for hard financial times and what you think you still may need to do, if anything. Has anyone else felt this way, whether a believer or not?
