Finkelsteins test positive even after de quervains surgery?

I had a surgery for de quervains about 2 weeks ago and when I do the test I still get a pain where i use to that showed it was positive. There is still pain and locking of my bones at the bottom of my thumb. the doc said it could be trigger thumb and said i might have to have another surgery. im so confused and worried. im 17

    2 weeks after the surgery is still very early. You may still have inflammation causing the test to be positive. Give it some time. (One other suggestion is to compare the one hand to the other. Some people may test positive on both hands and that is actually there normal. It is only considered a positive if it is substantially more sever then the other hand) Second, If you do have trigger thumb there are other treatments besides surgery. The most conservative is splinting for 6 weeks. Other options are cortisone shots and then finally surgery. Make sure you are seeing either an occupational therapist or a physical therapist that specializes in hands. You need to make sure you are getting good rehab to regain movement, strength and prevent future injuries.
