Polycoria is when a person has more than one pupillary opening in the eye. The person may have a "main pupil" and other black spots in the iris (the colored part of the eye). Sometimes the other openings are not completely round and are often smaller than the "main pupil"

Polycoria is when there is more than one pupillary opening in the eye. Obviously, it is quite rare. It is a congenital disease, and appears to be transmissible through hereditary means.

Many eventually are rendered blind by choroiditis.

An interesting case involving five pupils in one eye:

Apparently, in this case, the person was able to see movement of a hand at several feet, but used her main pupil for ordinary vision.
