Why do people blame feminism for selective service or the draft?
Like there is no correlation between the two at all. Feminists I know don't like the war even slightly but they are willing to serve.
That is really whacked logic.
Oh yeah and VAWA. Like govt. stats support that way more women are killed by men in dv cases so it makes sense they had to start looking at this as a problem. Same as hate crimes against other groups who are not as powerful like blacks and gays. These are hate crimes too. Oppression is not linear it is a web that envelopes.

Because they feel that since feminists fought for other basic rights, that they should fight to fight.
It's just a way to drive more sexism, and diminish the problem at hand. You'll get a lot of "it happens to men too". But the fact of the matter is nothing changes until a LOT of people die because of it.

Because organizations like NOW lobby for it. (VAWA in particular) Violence doesn't need an additional descriptor to accentuate the point that one demographic commits more violence or because another demographic is affected by violence from another. Violence is violence. By changing definitions of violence to the point where so much litigation comes from it, it does nothing for the public but infringe on the rights of the innocent.
