Why does other black people other than african american take offense too when being called the N word?

I mean it's only the african americans that was used as slaves in the past and being called N. but now a day dark skinned people from places such as india or middle east also take offense when being called N? Why is is that?

i don't think anyone should be using the world at all. its rude, demeaning, and plain stupid. justoneleslie: not all black people say things like that and they probably just said it in a teasing manner. things like that are just ignorant.

Why do you call people from India and the Middle East "black people"? Is it because if you aren't white then you are black? That's ridiculous! I think the answer to why people get offended is because some ignorant people only see things in black and white and not the many other colors in between. The world is not just made up of Europeans and Africans.

When you see the world as just white people and black people, then you really are not seeing the world.

If you are not white or black, you can be brown or olive, which is what most people from India and the Middle East are.

Probably because when you call other races the N word you are already being racist. Thats like saying why do japanese get mad when I call them korean? Because its not appropriate thats why. A little trick is, try calling them by their name vs an opressive/offensive slang racist word. Then you wont offend anyone.

The thing that offends me most is when people say the N word (not "n*gg*r" by the way)... "THE N WORD" literally

Thats just white people getting away with saying "n*gg*r." Thats all that is.

It's bull s**t cuz when you say "the n-word" you put the word "n*gg*r" in the listeners head.... Thats what SAYING A WORD IS!

You say "the n-word," and I'm like, oh he means "n*gg*r."

You're makin ME say it in my head!

Why don't YOU say it instead... and take responsibility for the shitty words you wanna say

because they just want the attention. seriously like its the same thing when african americans often say 'Is it because im black?"

ummmmmmmmm no............. seriously that is so annoying. A classmate or someone of that race will ask you for one of your doritos or something and if you say no they always have to resort to that line "Is it because I'm black?" ugggg that bugs me. no its not because of your race its just because i don't want to give you any food!!!!!!

but anyways... im really not racist i just don't like it when people

try to play the victim in circumstances that aren't even relevant.

nobody should use the 'N' word in my opinion but at the same time if you aren't even African American then why do you even care??

We're still black, most people don't know the difference when they call us that.

Source(s): I have been called the N word...I am not AA.
